cannot buy the hardware/modules/wires separately from BMW, this is almost worthless.

Wrong it's not completely worthless. You are right you cannot buy the wires directly from bmw but you can get the wires so that it does work. Which I may just do myself.

I did the install a few years ago with my e92 m3, its plug and play; however you still need the clock spring as well, not sure if it comes with it too.

Unfortunately I've been unable to find anyone that's willing to re-wrap a worn V2 wheel for me

Okay sure, obtaining some wiring and the E70 X5 heated clockspring is easy but where are you going to source the module for it then? There's zero sources for that critical component.

You can clean this up with some water, dish soap, and a microfiber cloth. I bought a Performance wheel that was in arguably worse shape than this. With some gentle soaking and cleaning I was able to get it to like new condition to where it matches the softness and color from a brand new piece. The color and material on these wheels doesn't degrade, it's just oil/dirt from hands that caked in it.
