Cheers mate.

I've mounted them and am taking them as backup tires to the next event late July, but don't plan to run them.

In theory my first try will be at VIR labor day weekend!

Cheers

What event is that? If it's a DE I might have to join you and give the PFC brakes a test there too.

VIR? It's the PCA Potomac event. 3 days at VIR! Registration opens in motorsportreg tomorrow morning

I run almost all the time with PCA and the Potomac group is the best. They are just fantastic

Yes, Potomac PCA is excellent I think they run a spring VIR (I don't pay attention to which region but I like PCA DE in general) event as well. Great folks and much less anal than BMWCCA for the advanced groups.

Doing a thread revival to get some clarity and consolidate answers.

I will be doing upwards of 6 track days a year. Car is pretty much a garage queen rest of the time with occasional mountain runs.

Can you fit RE-17R 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 on the stock ZCP wheels/suspension with appropriate camber without rubbing or bottoming out?

I currently use TMS spacers (F 15mm/R 12.5mm) on MPSS 245/35/19 and 265/35/19. Can I retain this spacer size for fitment or will I have to downsize/get rid of them completely?

Yes, although I'd prefer a 255 front and 275 rear. The zcp wheels aren't really wide enough to support more tire

A 265/35/19 up front will be too tall I suspect. I run the 255/275 setup Shadow mentioned, works very well. Fronts get beaten up way quicker than the rears though. I'm going to look at square setup for next season.

I run 265/40-18 and 285/40-18 as my daily/rain set up. Those are the exact same size up front and a shade larger in rear then a 265/35-19 and 285/35-19. So they fit just fine. I'm running stock ride height on stock suspension.

The 40 series rubber works for my aesthetics, and also makes the ride of the car much more pleasurable on a daily basis.

You're the first person I have ever heard of running 40 profile tires... tell me more.

You aren't crazy, they are the same diameter (front and back) as the stock ZCP 20" wheels and tires. I use them for a number of reasons, high on the list is that I only have the single car for all car needs and the extra sidewall makes my local crappy roads much better. (Wife's rule was 4 doors and 1 car, so I got an M3).

I know this is a RE-71R thread so I will touch on the tires only minimally. They are Conti Extreamcontact. I switched to them (instead of the stock M3 PSS in 40 series) as;

1) the PSS have the super soft rain compound on the inside edges of the tires. With camber I was eating through the rain compound and they became a s**tshow in the wet. The conti EC's hold up much better and are REALLY good in the wet.

2) The PSS and 4S tires are not compatible with the wet/cold spring and fall track days I get. Sub 45 degrees out and damp and they are a mess. The conti EC's are fine in the wet and cold.

I switch to track tires in the dry and warm either Toyo RR or RE-71R.

I don't have a pic of the conti's, here these are my snows. 245/45-18 square. Sidewall size is within 1/4 inch.

My kids call her snowplow.

Oooh makes sense now. We thought you were running 265/40r18 and 285/40r18 on an E9x.

Ah, my bad. I was searching for info on the RE-71R and missed that I strayed into a different M3 section. Again, my bad.

Yeah, me too, I test fit one of my rear 265/35/19 PS4S on the front of my car (similar height to a 265/40/18) on the lift the other day and it rubs like crazy, so I was really confused too when he said the 40's fit. I do think it probably wouldn't be too bad of a fitment in the rear though. I'm trying to do weird autocross things that get me a tire taller than a 285/30/18 RE-71, but most likely just need to go to the 275/35.

285/35/18 in the rear works.
Fronts do also, but will scrub the fender liners at full lock.

My RE71's are pretty worn down on one edge. Would you run another track day on these? I'd have to run them backwards to get the best tread on the outside. Also, it's a 50km drive to and from the track.

Isn't a 285/35 too tall? I'm running 285/30 and it's already real meaty.

I wouldn't want to even if it could work. Diameter is too large, also depending on which front tire you use, the difference could cause an issue with dsc behavior.
