Also the dealership said they just changed the brake pads and rotors, at least the Ad says that and they told me that in person when I was there.

Car could be a total piece of shit mechanically, which I do not know and it may very well be. A PPI would tell you that, but cosmetically the issues are minor for a used car.
it just looks like a car that has been daily driven - if you're a fan of LSB this would be a really cool opportunity to snag the lone LSB E90 M3

fortunately my favorite BMW color is AW so there are plenty of civics for me to choose from

My friend from bay area went to check out the car and offered a reasonable $36k. He was given a counter offer couple of days later with an final offer of $42k. I guess they are pretty firm on their pricing with barely any wiggle room.

Did he test drive it? Have yet to hear anything about the car mechanically.

This would be my ideal car it's too bad it's got a little more miles then I would want though. It would look cool next to my LSB fiat 600

Someone needs to buy this car and restore her to her former glory! All the work seems extremely minor/superficial. This car has insane potential, surprised it's not sold yet.

I agree. It's a 7 year old used car with over 50K miles...yah most of us would have taken better car of it, but in this case the original owner didn't. Big deal...it's not wrecked, most of the scuffs, scratches, and imperfections are pretty simple to fix if you spend a little $, time, and energy. After all, it's apparently the only LSB E90 ZCP in North America.

If you want perfection, there's always EAG...or you could just buy new.

The "I'm over the 1 of 1" posts crack me up. Congratulations on being so logical and ambivalent in your car preferences. Some of us seek out the rare, the unique, the odd. At the BMW dealer today they had 3 M3/M4's, an M5, and M6, and X6 M on the showroom floor. All of them with black exterior, how boring. A splash of individual color in the center of their showroom would be a nice middle finger to safe and boring black.

Sounds like this car is priced optimistically, but the cosmetic issues aren't overly expensive or insurmountable especially for the right buyer who places value on a unique color combo. There are many of us who want something different and will pay for it. I for one take pride in having a rare color combo M3 and appreciate having something different than others that I've seen locally.

It doesn't make you a snob to want something a little bit unique and special, you just have more eclectic tastes. It's ok to admit it, too.

I agree. Plus, keep in mind that the special color is an additional 5k on MSRP when you order it, so for those comparing the price of this car, say, to a white 2011 e90 ZCP you probably aren't factoring in the additional cost of that individual paint.

Get a new keyhole cover from iND, then front and rear bumper reprints, ~$2k and shave the reflectors while you're at it. Full detail on the car then clear bra. So for about $5k over what the purchase cost is, it should be able to go back to a shiny new car look.
And hopefully everything checks out mechanically.

It's okay, some people just want cookie cutter, uninspiring, black on black all day everyday. It's a fucking LSB E90 M3. Anyone who doesn't think it's special seriously needs their M enthusiast card revoked.

Ha! Did you read in other posts that it doesn't have any record of maintenance? How can you tell if the car is in great condition and only needs minor fixes?

Sorry man but thats not how you buy a car that is worth $45K. I am not surprised if a "potential" buyer (not on this forum) had a PPI done on it but it didn't pass their expectations.

If you buy cars solely on records, then that's your choice. A PPI or if you're knowledgable enough about how a car is supposed to be maintained, you can visually inspect the vast majority of maintenance items. I've bought 8 used BMWs in my lifetime. Guess how many had complete/thorough service records? Zero.

I totally still think this is a cool car! I just can't get around to liking LSB as a color. If this was a Moonstone, Tanzanite, or Champagne Quartz, I'd be sold even if it was in this condition! That's the caveat with a lot of Individual colors: they're polarizing, and rarity is not worth it if you hate the car you have to drive (investment pieces aside).

And the car is running Nankang tires.... great.

Somebody rescue this car. I've been thinking how I'd absolutely love to add an E90 to the M3 collection, then my E92 went into limp mode and probably needs another throttle valve actuator

Is that your 2nd or 3rd throttle actuator?

It is interesting how they advertise that it's in, "pristine condition", when clearly it needs some work. A nice car, nonetheless. I'm happy with my jet black on black e90.

I've also seen this car in person and e90m305's summary in c#19 is spot on. It's a used car that has a variety of nicks/blemishs, but nothing catastrophic.

The attached pic is a nationwide summary of current asking prices of 2011 E90 M3 w/6MT from CarGurus. My general experience is that whatever the asking price is, you can usually negotiate that down by 5%. There is of course always exceptions (more or less...).

Excluding the unique color, my guess is that the market price of this car in this condition in the Bay Area is $36K-$37K - assuming a PPI doesn't throw up anything else...

They're asking $44K, but in c#47 AWF87M2 said they'd come down to $42K during negotiations.

So that means they're asking for a ~$5K+ premium for the LSB.

It's cool and all... but that's a lot of dough for what at the end of the day is just a color.

It's been on sale for 6 weeks. It'll be interesting to see how long it'll take to move.

Karl.

This would be my 2nd. First one went at 60k something miles, this one would be 87k.

Don't get me wrong, still by far the most reliable car I've owned, but when things do go wrong, it's pricey.
