Sweet. Totally forgot to check BK. Is that literally I need in terms of hardware (brackets/mounts) then? Assuming I'd just swap over the belt buckle assemble, and retrofit the powered parts.

These look different than what I have. I have the first set of mounts they made for bottom mount seats. I wonder if they have made adjustments since last year.

You'll need to reuse your OEM sliders or source a set. I opted to source a set of manual sliders an am super happy with them.

you need a set of BMW e9X power or manual sliders (which you could pull off your stock seats)

The ones pictured at the link are the e39 bottom mount seat mounts, not the e9X ones. Not sure why

Bumping thread.

How does the bkauto mounts work with pole positions and powered seats? How would I use the sliders?

I used wedge brackets. They work ok... but the quality is not that great. I would not use them again if I had to choose.

They also do not have a e90 fitment. I had to use the e92 and get it to work.

The same way they do with bottom mount seats. You just buy the appropriate BK side mount system instead.

First, I had the BKauto (part# 9292) HAVE to combine with OEM slider, bit too complicate on installing (for me) so I returned.

VAC and MS floor mount will not line up either, unless you drill new holes to make it 100% center.

I end up with Planted mount, it line up the center for Recaro sporter, my friend has Wedge mount also line up in center.

It does take a little bit to play around with, but once done I was so happy. Got my electric sliders to work with the seat. The only downside is the forward/back switch is in a weird position that I can only adjust when the door is open.

Bumping this again!

Anyone have info on if the BK mounts still drop the Sportsters lower than the stock setup?

How do the Planted ones compare for height?

The BK ones don't drop it lower than the lowest setting on the stock seats. I would saying its just above it. The main reason for BK is to use OEM sliders which was a priority for me. I wonder if we can work with BK to make a solution that sits lower? I bet they would be open to it.

Ah damn, that's disappointing to hear. I figured the design of the CS' seat cushion would sit lower than the stock seats anyways - guess not.

I want to build custom mounts so I can retain memory and height adjustment. The OEM heat elements would be awesome toooo

The only problem I have with the ms mounts is they sit too close to the door and they leave an unsightly gap on the center console side, they could come over an inch to center on the steering wheel. It doesn't bother me when driving, just aesthetically and it would be nice to adjust the back of the seat when I'm belted in with the door closed. I never looked at SYT's diy regarding these mounts to understand his gripe but I will volunteer that my cars an 08' and I know some of the seatbelt receptacle's differs depending on MY. Sportsters don't sit super low anyway and one of my "musts" was to get the seats as close to the floor as possible because I always felt stock m3 seats didn't sit low enough and I'm only 5'10" 185lbs. If it bothered me that much I do have the means to "adjust" them. I actually do like being close to the door cuz it feels snug and further from the passenger although I do understand it's detrimental to the way the car handles not being as close as possible to the center of the car but I'm not a competitive track dude, I'm a hobbyist. If I picked a mount that gave me a stock seat height I wouldn't have bothered switching them out with sportsters cuz it wouldn't have been worth the money and hassle. I was slightly pissed spending $1k on hardware to mount them with no product support and the MS 3 points are a joke for the price point and what they are. I had to figure it out on my own which took trial and error but I'm happy with the end result. That price includes recaro sliders too.

Edit: I also have fitted Schroth quick fit pro's on both seats which is awesome and adds to the experience because race-car but makes you look like a knob head driving around town with them. Awesome for the occasional track sesh though and easily removed in 30 seconds if you need the back seat.

I would call BK to find out. They may have something by now.

I'm just a satisfied customer, not a supplier

Hey guys, got some sportsters on route and I'm wondering what mounts to get. JRP has Sparco mounts coming in - anyone try those? Hoping to get the seat down an inch or two from stock. Would drive me nuts if it wasn't centered to the wheel though..

Thanks!

I ran sparco side mounts, Macht Schnell floor mounts with VAC sliders. Whats most important imo is the sliders. That was a big weak point on my car and they never felt fully fixed always some give (wiggled slightly)

I would take SYT advice and use the kit he linked that seems super solid.
