Ken Wilkinson at Bob Smith BMW. He knows I modify and track my car and he has no problems with doing warranty on brakes and such. He said he used to track his own car back in the day.

Gerd Stegemann at Beverly Hills BMW.
He's an old German guy that will take care of your car quickly and properly. My family and I have been taking our cars to him for service for 20+ years and he ALWAYS keeps me in his office for a few laughs or good stories.

Steve Thomas has the best service in Socal. Shelley has bad reviews along with the rest of the Socal dealers.

Just go to southbay autohaus 4875 West Rosecrans Avenue Hawthorne, CA 90250-6613 phone: (310) 355-0922. They can work on your car under your warranty if that's why your asking for a dealership. Ask for Qais hes the owner and tell him I sent you. Everyone from every car forum goes there for there euro cars. It's a HIGHLY respected place. And there reputation is absolutely outstanding.

everyone will have mixed opinions i guess.

but i will agree if i wasn't always busy i'd take my car into steve thomas. they are cool, and here for enthusiasts like us we know and care about our cars. like jimmy and those guys are awesome. i was close to buying a car from them too but found a better option when i was on my search. but in terms of a dealership that cares about their customers, they have been known for years now to be the best.

i've been going to Shellys since i first got my e60(2009). While I've had other SA's, Xochi at Shelly has been excellent to me. A few months ago, my 5 Series low oil sensor came on and i've been driving for a while so i decided to pass by Shelly's to purchase some oil. Well i wasnt aware how late it was but it was late enough that the service dept was closed. Regardless one of the sales guy got a bottle of oil and topped me off. he could've easily said to come back tomorrow morning. i thought that was a pretty classy move.

Regardless, i would like to know what was wrong with their service(s)? Just so i can keep an eye out for something specific on my next service.

You mentioned a sales guy... That's the key point. The sales team is nice and I've had a great experience with them.

When I took my m3 in for a top off, I got my car back without it being topped off, and screws taken out of parts in my engine bay. I wouldn't have noticed this had I not gone to EAS right afterwards for some mods.
They disconnected parts unrelated to topping off my car and never bothered to put them back.

Thanks man, holy crap i wouldnt know to check for that! When i got my oil topped off, i watched him pour the oil in my car tho. but for something where you need to take off the engine cover, i wouldnt follow up to that detail... i'm curious, what did you do? did you file a complaint?

I just pulled the trigger last night trading in my 2012 X6 for 2012 M3. This'll be my umtenith BMW from Yiwen Ting of Shelly BMW. He is hands down awesome. Thus the service(Xochi, Kayla, etc) not so great with balloned prices on tires & always forget something here & there.

I love to hear more options as to where I can get my M3 serviced in the socal area...

BTW, how's the standard equipped sound system in the M3?

Thanks.

For dealer work, I don't know anything in the OC.

But there are great non-dealer shops. EAS and R's Tuning are first to come to mind

Since they told me I don't need a RO for a top off, I couldn't really do a formal complaint

But I had pics etc and emailed them to my CA, but without a RO there wasn't much I could do
