The RE SSK is the best on the market and one of the first mods to do.

Must have part for the stick shift M3. Combine this with a clutch-stopper and you have the best combo out there.

Ha ha! Good to see you here bro. I already have the SSK and you should also get a clutch - stopper. Will try and bring the M in Delhi again soon so that you can see / feel the difference.

Faster shifts, so faster acceleration. Am I wrong?
I wonder why BMW does not make this stock/optional as Porsche Boxter/Cayman and 911?

Some of the vendors do in house installation when purchased. Anyone has an idea of the cost?

After running with the RE SSK for 6 months and now having the stock shifter back in place, I can honestly say that it's not worth it.

The difference in throw is minor and the RE SSK makes a really annoying noise when you shift from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd. It sounds like a metal grinding/spinning noise.

The OEM shifter feels so smooth and rock solid, if I were to do it over again I would not install the RE.

Really? Sounds like a bad install the SSK should never make any grinding noise when shifting.

Nope. There have been several threads about this noise, including one by mod Rldzhao. The noise bothered him so much he had to sell the shifter. I've also heard my friends car and it has the same noise. It's definitely not the install, and 100% the kit.
