Replaced both TAs with Rebuild UK. Bit of a project but seem ok. After coming home from the garage - scanning no codes on my way home - I realized I forgot to connect the hose on the front plenum. Anyone know what its for?
Hope I can wiggle it back in place without too much hazzle.... |

Yes. No cutting required. It's OEM fitment, just no plastic sides that might die in 6-10 years. The only fitment that is slightly different is the fan. On the OEM one the fan slides into slots on three points on the sides as well as being screwed in at the top of the rad. On this radiator it has a slot and screw to compress the tabs on the side to hold it in place (you see the top screw in the picture above the neck for the hose). The screws don't squarely come down on the tabs. So far happy with it, but I haven't driven the car a lot since install. Parked most of this week preventative because of Tropical Storm Imelda.

a quick search shows that foam cannons start cheap like $20ish and up are they all pretty much the same? or are there particular brands/models i should be looking at?

Took my first shot at vinyl wrap. I think it came out decent for never touching this stuff before. Maybe I can say it turned out great since I was using cheap eBay wrap. Regardless it matches my carbon trim pretty well and I am happy so far.

I have the original MTM cannon that I've moved to other duties (about 5-6 years old and still great) and a I bought a PF22 for foaming. The PF22 is a step up but it's nuanced and incremental. TLDR: If you want to drop ~$120 on the best, go for the PF22 (I recommend buying from Obsessed Garage because he sets it up for you to his spec which is the best for most power washers). Otherwise save your coin and spend $20-$35 on a setup on Amazon (TriNova or MATCC). |

I ask because it looks great and you did a good job, but I got a buddy who did this to his WRX STI hatchback console and it looked amazing but he has no garage and the sun just caused just cool all day I assume and it to start the peel at the ends. Don't want to scare you, but if it happens, don't want you freaking out and at least you will know it happens. |

There are a few places I'm not completely happy with after seeing it in the car. I will probably be pulling it off and redoing it again. But I do appreciate the heads up. If it started coming up I would just think it was something I did wrong being my first time or just a cheap product. |

I picked my car up a month ago and although it's in good overall condition, I've been dying to bring it back to life, cosmetically. The weather is still too hot in Phoenix to really paint correct and detail the exterior, but highs in the upper 90's meant a good oven for an intensive leatherique treatment. Have done 3-4 coats over the more worn areas and will be about a 30 hour dwell time all together before I use pristine clean later tonight.
Fingers crossed it cleans up well because she looks like a greased pig right now. |
