[HELP] E90 Sedan + Recaro Sportster Floor Mounts
Issue Resolved: mounted the seat belt end directly to the floor mount/chassis bolt.
Hey guys, so I just received my Wedge Engineering floor mounts with sliders to pair with my Recaro Sportsters and I think there's a bit of an issue. On the E90 Sedan, the end of the seatbelt attaches directly to the seat as opposed to the E92 coupe which attaches to the chassis. Therefore, an E90 sedan floor mount SHOULD have a screw hole attachment on both sides of the mount for both the seat belt receptacle on the inside, and the end of the seatbelt. Well, my wedge engineering mounts, that I waited 2 weeks to receive, only have 1 hole on the inner side meant for the seatbelt receptacle... So this begs the question, has anyone on the forums ever installed a set of seats in an E90 using wedge brackets? Obviously I am dying to install my seats after waiting for so long, but I need functioning seatbelts... I have emailed Wedge and am waiting to hear back, but I am thinking that my only options at this point are the following: 1. Send the brackets back to Wedge to have them add the second mounting point for the belt (will take at least a week I assume) or 2. Have a custom piece made that bolts up to the floor mount that looks similar to this, but will probably need to be longer. https://europeanautosource.com/macht...or-mounts.html" rel="" target="_blank">http://<a href="https://europeanauto...ounts.html</a> Any help is appreciated! Thanks

I was able to mount the seat belt end directly to the floor mount. I will post a picture of this soon.

Ya, that was going to be my second plan of action. Decided to mount them up first and see if I could make it work

pics?
when you bolt into the seat, doesn't the clip have an open end resting on a metal bracket? How does it bolt in under the seat then? Does it rest against something like it does inside the side of the seat? Last edited by M3 Number 86; 08-20-2015 at 12:44 PM.. |

I'll post up a picture shortly. Imagine the bracket being bolted directly to the floor on the rear outside corner. Simple as that.

I did that for the Quick Fit Pros that I installed but the bracket was a complete circle (closed off) the stock ones aren't completely closed off though right?

I'm pretty sure they do have a fully closed hole to put the bolt thru.

I must have mis-remembered like Roger Clemens lol. Was thinking about the hooked side that is leveraged to stay in place.

Ya, the closed side is bolted in, while the open side is just hanging out. Lol

Have you had any problems with the seatbelt being mounted to floor?
I was also thinking about the following vac mounts, what made you not purchase them for mounting seatbelt? https://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac...kit-p2303.aspx My setup is different though, going with bk mounts and oem sliders, but do not know where to mount outside seatbelt mount. |
