I decided to go with grey! The red ones - while they look fantastic - clashed a bit too much with the extended Fox Red dashboard. I think red would suit a black or grey interior perfectly, or even a non-extended FR.

The grey looks so right, a nod to the E46/E39.

I also got a new redline overlay to match the 8600 RPM customized tachometer face. Now it's perfect!

These updated versions have white adhesive backing, which allows the original light output and does not suffer the dim issues of the original batch.

So, I'm the kind of person that pays money for something only he will notice..
The differences are - MPH/KPH to KPH ONLY speedo and illuminated ///M logo on the rev counter. I know it's silly, but I cannot tell you how many times I told some of my friends, that I'm fed up with it, staying in the dark.. Now I'm a happy man! Still some work to do with the Perfekt Toolbox to adjust the needle and the cruise control to the values they show.

Now for the product - honestly, I was a bit skeptical in the beginning. After I received them I saw that they are a bit more shiny than the original M3 faces.
You can see the comparison from the photos. But after installing them, there is nothing to worry about. This is quality product and when lit up at night, it looks great OEM like or even better. Installation is quite easy and it takes 30 minutes.

Hey I did the same thing but with MPH, deleting KM!

Kinda sucks seeing everyone else's gauges turn out so well. I'm still waiting on my replacements. Been a month already.

My own design. Honey comb weave also but can't really see it in the yellow.

A night shot of the revised V2 I've been using for a few weeks now.

The light output is so crisp and perfect! Never realized how much better these are at night vs the initial ones I had until installing them. FYI the blotches of light at the bottom of the oil temp gauge, that's just a reflection off the gauge rings

What was the difference between the original ones you had? The black backing on the sticker?

Yup! The white back diffuses light much more evenly and thus the numbers and markings look even more crisp/clean at night, too. The backlit M3 logo no longer than a semicircular shadow that it once did, due to repositioning.

All of these changes have been implemented in the V2 production run which is what everyone should be receiving these days. The V1 issues are only for those who ordered around the time I initially posted this thread, so only myself and a handful of others were affected as far as I know.

The original redline portion becomes red at 8400 underneath the face for the tachometer. So to accomodate for my tuned 8600 redline and 8600 cut face, the new overlay has more yellow down to 8600.

What color was the adhesive on yours? Looks like you have the early version with black adhesive backing based on how dim the output is. Contact the seller, I'm sure he'll re-send you the fixed ones.
Damn. I ordered mine a long time ago but just installed them right now and the light is a bit dim. Mine also has halos around the needle base - the holes are cut ever so slightly vs the oem.

One of the original black backing ones. I've messaged him on IG the same as I did originally.

Did he end up giving you another set that's white backed?

I offered to pay a discounted price since they're not too pricey anyways.

Otherwise they look good.

Yeah, mine are white backed. And if the needles have a halo effect that is because you didn't push them down enough. It's tricky, because too much pressure can pop out the worm gear.

Just got mine changed by 6ixSpd. Thank you for the install. Great job!

Thinking of changing the steering wheel but can't decide between the two. The red/black steering wheel might be to much on the eyes. What do you guys recommend .

Definitely black with red stripe. The red one would only look right with fox red interior to match.

Does anybody know if you have to use a certain glue to install the venoxy guage overlays?:
