Wouldn't buy an aftermarket plan for 500 but am spending 1298 for five year BMW wheel and tire plan. Put 30k miles a year as daily driver on pothole filled highways. Peace of mind for 150000 miles of daily freeway driving....yes. I like that no money.changes hands with BMW plan and I can go to any BMW dealer. And since my 80 mile commute takes me directly by four BMW dealers I will always be near a replacement if I hit a pothole or get a nail. Honestly I see BMW taking a bath on this deal with me.

I am picking mine up in a few hours from now. I was quoted in the 2300 range, which is clearly aimed at noobs with no financial acumen. I am not going to pay anything over 1.2k for a 36 month insurance.

It's like paying 500k to insure a 500k house.

i paid $1100 for it for 5 yrs, no mileage limit, and covered if you swap tires later on. i got two nails in the past couple years before and they will replace (not patch) if you have a nail in it. worth it if it's your daily driver or in bad areas!

Canadian dealer (so should be more just for that reason) and I was quoted $1,400 for 4 years and it would include any BMW wheels on the car (I have OEM 18s for the winter and ZCPs for summer).

My 335's 5 year tire and wheel insurance was that much.

Each ZCP rim costs like $500 WITHOUT the tire. So you do the math if you can get both for 5 years.
Fixed.

Anyone else bought this lately? Will it cover if you upgrade the tires to PSS?

Anyone know how much the dealer cost is? The dealer quoted me $1569 retail, they said they didn't negotiate this price which I think is BS!

get the wheel and tire insurance if they use Michelin's...if they use the RF Bridgestonses RE050A , then dont bother - they will be "legally" bold after 12K miles anyway and thats when funny things start happening, pops, bubbles. All 4 of my tires had the bubbles and only 1 was considered to be under warranty. BMW doesnt tell you but even if any of the corners reach less than 2/32 then its not covered. I will never get that tire ins again if they put on Bridgestones....my 2 cents and painful exp.

They are Conti's and not RFT so I decided to pass on the warranty. Michelin PS2 are $350 each so for that price, I can get a full set with Road Hazard and not worry about the warranty if I don't use it.

I talked them down to $1159, waiting for them to drop another $100 then I'll probably do it. They said that they will cover what ever tire is on there as long as it's on the BMW approved list of tires. It's a little odd as it's the car that has the tire/wheel warranty and not necessary the actual tire/wheel warranty, unlike when you buy from Tire Rack. Example SA gave me. My car has Contis, it something were to happen, then contis would the replacement tire. If i have Michelin PSS, then that would be the replacement tire. So, I guess I should try and trade the tires asap and put on Michelin PSS...

My SA did mention that it has to have 3/32 or higher to be under warranty if something goes wrong. If it's under 3/32, they won't warranty the tires.

It's not just the tire coverage. You're also covered if you destroy a wheel.

Yes, prices are very high. I'm sure BMW didn't realized how many claims would be made through the warranty. That's probably why it's gone up.

I was quoted 1370 with TAX for Five years, with paint and window protection(not going to replace the window only to fix it). but I still don't think this is necessary

Yea, same offer on my end for Tire/Wheel insurance. They tried to convince me I needed this on 18s riding 40 series tires. Come on', I think 19s at minimum it makes sense.
