If you don't like any depth to the exhaust note...

I've heard hedge trimmers that have more rumble than the carrera gt.

The Carrera GT is absolutely unbelievable in person. I heard one accelerate into a tunnel/on-ramp in Chicago one time and I almost fell over. I'm a rabid Ferrari fan, but I've never heard anything like that.

You can't get a sense from that video...especially since it is not moving.

The beauty of the 911 Turbo is not in its' appearance, it's the way it feels when you're behind the wheel.

The Italians make the prettiest cars, but the Germans make super cars that can be driven daily. I, too find the 911 attractive, but for me it is not even close to many of the Ferraris, both past and present.

True looks can be subjective. But a R8 looks much better than a 911 turbo. Sure there may be some who prefer the 911's look because it's a non-flashy car, and I agree with you I like that... hence why I bought a M3. But I think 8/10 people would say the r8 looks better, and probably 9/10 that an Aston Martin Vanquish looks better. I find the 911 turbo to be the ugliest 'super car'.

Though I like cars more than women, but lets compare two of the characters in Black Swan. To me the 911 is Natale Portman ... refined, beautiful in her own right. Mila Kunis is the r8 or aston... you want to fuck the shit out of her all day long. Fair enough?

Me either. I find R8/10s to be too busy and too big. Way too much going on with those cars. Too heavy as well. AMs are beautiful for a GT car.

I know it's subjective but when a bunch of us recently got together for a car meet the F 430 which showed up was easily trumped by the gt3 and RS.

I think in cases of the CGT and 918 spyder, no Ferrari can compete with how gorgeous those cars are, so Porsche can make a much better looking car than Ferrari inside and out, but the 911 isnt supposed to be that flashy poser type of car (for the most part).
By CGT you mean carrera gt? Amazing car but personally I find an f430 scud looks way more appealing. Not saying the CGT is ugly but if they would be as common as ferraris im sure many people would change their opinions about it.

Really? A 993 turbo or a CGT better looking than a 599 GTO?

The 918 is one beautiful piece I will admit

fair enough. I prefer the mid engines as well..I was just speaking of pure exterior styling.

I'd take the 918 over the new McLaren or the 458 Ferrari.

The 599 GTO is gorgeous, but I don't approve of the "GTO" badging by Ferrari - doesn't make sense to me : )

I could never own a Ferrari. Just too conspicuous not to mention high maintenance. I take the P car everywhere and never think twice about it. Not to mention it makes a fucking awesome snowmobile. Now, that 993 posted above? One of my favorite 911 iterations.

Love it, but I'd probably pick the CGT over it; by the ever so slightest amount. Sure in some ways the 599 is more beautiful, in some ways it is not too me. If anything is timeless it is a CGT, imo.
