Trading in 335i for an M3, what would i owe?

Hello Bimmerpost, its been a long time since ive been on here, but i come bearing good news!

I am planning on trading in my 2007 BMW 335I E92 coupe for a pre-owned 2008/2009 E92 M3 hopefully within the next 6 months or so. What i need help with is identifying how much money i will have to fork over with the trade in. Specs of my car:

-2007 BMW E92 335I
-6sp Manual
-Space Grey Metallic over Dakota Black/Wood
-37,000 Miles
-Sports package and another package i cant remember
-Paint and interior are in great shape!!!

Car that i plan on buying:
-2008 or 2009 E92 M3
-Either transmission
- 40k miles+
-Any color
-doesnt have to have any packages at all
- alright shape

After having lived with my 335i for a year, i cannot get over the sensation of driving my friends M3, and know that i need to upgrade. The time has come, and i now know what i need to do

So far i have scavenged away roughly 4,500 to 5000$ of money that i could use for this trade in. Hopefully, with rising gas prices and the introduction of the new M3 bodystyle, i believe i have the right time to buy.

Thanks for any info, and if i am forgetting to mention any details, let me know! Its great to be back in the Bimmerpost routine

-E

The 335i market is pretty weak. I just sold mine to carmax a month ago.

2008 BSM 335i Coupe
43500 miles
Premium, Navi, Comfort Access, Sports
Excellent interior and exterior (spent far too much time in keeping it clean)
Restored back to stock everything
5 days left of warranty LOL
Got $22k at Carmax. Was fueled to get the M3 so had to let it go.

I suggest you get financing from Penfed at 1.49 for the m3. Would keep the payments nice. I assume what you're looking for is roughly in the high 30s to low 40s.

I would be paying out-right for the car. Sounds like i might not have the $ to upgrade, as thats almost 10-15k$ to upgrade, if i got a value similar to yours.

^^ This, unfortunately, is 100% accurate; even in my area (WA state, Seattle) where BMW's sell pretty well.

Looks like I did good. Sold my 07 335i Sedan, 42000miles, premium, sport, very clean with one more year of CPO left for $21.75 to a private party. And got 2.9% APR through BMWFS on a 09 CPO M3 sedan.

Very hard to find a M3 in the high 30s low 40s except for one with high miles.

I just did a recent search on hundreds of M3's all over the States,
2008 E92 M3 with relatively low miles (35,000 and lower) and a CLEAN car (no accident), 6MT with Nav go at least 40k.. And this is not with CPO

E90 M3's are a bit cheaper though, if you like Sedans.
I had a 2008 E90 M3 and now I have 2010 E92 M3, and I love the styling of both!
