Oil change level indicator

Guys,

Just changed my oil for the first time. I withheld the last 1.5 quarts and let it idle until my oil gauge in idrive said add a quart. I did this and now my gauge is all the way up to max. Question is......will idrive prompt with too much oil or will it just display max?

It will prompt overfill. Should add in .25 quart increments. Wait several miles of driving then add again.

I measure the amount of oil coming out and fill it with the same amount of new oil. I reset the CBS indicator using ISTA/D, drive 200km and top up a little if required.

As has been said a million times before, doing away with the dipstick was a stoopid idea

I did exactly that. Because my car was on ramps, I felt that some oil may not come out because of the camel bump oilpan shape and it's on an incline from the ramps. I literally filled the empty Castrol bottles. Next time I'll put the ramps at the bottom of my driveway and point the front of the car down the driveway and leave the rear wheels on the level garage floor. The driveway decline might level me off more? I was just tripping out because I nailed it right on full and thought it may not "over fill" warn.
