Interested in having a spare. I have Comfort Access on my 2011.75. Does that make it any harder to program the fob? Can I do it myself?

In order for the comfort access feature to work a dealer/locksmith would have to program it. It runs $40 to 100.

Just FYI.... If this key has already been used with a car then it cannot simply be reprogrammed to work with any other car. The transponder chip would need to be erased and reprogrammed with special equipment. No franchise BMW dealer is equipped to do this, nor will 95% of locksmiths. Even if you were able to find someone to do that part, then you would still need BMW software like ISTA to activate the comfort access feature afterwards.

The key is reusable. A new transponder can be installed in the key and it can be programmed by a dealer or locksmith. If you want comfort access that's going to take additional work. Regardless, you can have a spare in case you lose your own or whatever else for a lot less than the cost of a new spare.
Do a search.

Add a link for what? Proving that the key can be used? I'm not really interested in an argument over something that isn't debatable. I'm trying to sell something for a BMW. I've been a corvette forum member since 2001 and a member on GTRLife and R1Forum for several years. I've never seen things on message boards happen like they do in the BMW community. Couldn't wait to get out of this scene.

You have effectively derailed and trailed this listing. But this type of thing is okay around here. You have not posted any links to back your guess. Hopefully you can find a way to garner self-esteem and mature in a more therapeutic medium in the future.
