Red brake calipers

Just back from the Auto show and saw the c63 black series and loved the wheel - red brake caliper combo that I want to recreate on my M

Do I need to buy them, if so where would people recommend or can I get my stock ones painted? I am new at this so pls forgive the rookie questions.

First...:. Second, don't do it! Lastly, get a BBK or leave them stock looking.

all the paints I've seen look like crap after a short time

if you want the look - do it right and get a BBK from Brembo or StopTech

In reference to the responses: why would the OP get the BBK just for looks? Your looking at $3K for appearance? That's crazy.

OP, I would send the guys at IND a message and ask them about painting your calipers. They seem to have a great rep for their paint work. You may be able to work out a deal to allow to not remove your calipers and send them away (they paint a set for you, you send them your old set).

The only reason to invest in a BBK would be if you track the car or really care about appearances (one would argue a nice set of wheels would do more for this thank brakes).

I know a lot of people that do BBKs for looks. I agree it's a lot of coin -- but you also get the bigger rotors and multi-piston callipers with the "look".

i kinda wished our M's came with nicer looking brakes. i had the stock Bembos on my 04 G35 with Project Mu slotted rotors. it looked sick with rims. anyways, i wouldnt paint it red. kinda poserish to me.

If all you want id red calipers I say you paint them yourself. It's not terribly difficult to do. Search the DIY in the e90 side, there are many guys that have done it. I painted my brakes black on my 335, bought the paint kit at Autozone and it turned out great. Personally I wouldn't paint mine red... but that's just me.

BMW now offers the break caliper housing in Tornado RED! as a replacement option to the stock black on the 2008-2012 M3. I have worked out a deal with getbmwparts.com to get them shipped here from Germany. The cost is $264.61/caliper housing for the rear and the fronts for $311.22/housing.

The BMW part numbers are:

FRONT
Brake caliper housing, front left TORNADOROT 34117845133
Brake caliper housing, front right TORNADOROT 34117845134

REAR
Brake caliper housing, rear right TORNADOROT 34217845138
Brake caliper housing, rear left TORNADOROT 34217845137

Please note these are NOT powdercoated or painted these are manufactured directly by BMW. They are the exact same caliper housing that we all have on our M3's now, they are just solid red through the entire component which means the color will never chip or burn off!. Please PM me if you are interested. IF we get a group of 5 orders together they will ship to us for free. Please PM me if you are interested.

Glad i am not alone on this topic....as brake Calipers IMO make a BIG difference in appearance on a BMW...My 135i brakes look amazing and work rather well to and are Brembo's.....the same quality finish should of been used on ALL M cars especially the M3...Up until the 2012 year the only good looking brakes were on the 135i...all the opthers were well below par of the Audi's and most other performance cars that "FINISH" there brakes for looks. Granted the bMW brakes on M cars are very functionable but have alway's looked like crap next to other cars were they finished them...Glad to see that BMW has finally seen the light as the New M5 and M6 have there brakes finished..Now they really should finish them on the M3...as well as the 335i and 335is and the 1M.....can you believe the 1M does not even have finished brakes calipers...

Tischer sells a red caliper upgrade for anyone interested. It is the exact same caliper that comes on our cars however they are red. They are 303 for the rears x 2 and 383 for the fronts x2. Spoke to Jason at tischer and she said he will do a group buy of 5 of us for free shipping. I have not purchased yet so obviously no pics but its our existing oem caliper in red. If you are interested in a group buy with me send me a pm
