preventing pitted headlights?

Is there anyway? I heard some people use that Lamin-x film stuff, but most of them just peel it off after a week or so for some reason...(I'm assuming they don't like it very much lol). I'm thinking about going the lamin-x route and getting some tinted ones since I'm planning on smoking out my headlights a little...

When I had my clear bra put on I had the headlights done and no pitting. Interesting that your lights have peeled. I had my Cayman S lights covered and they never peeled or pitted. I had the Scotchguard film put on both of my cars and there was never an issue. Maybe the application was faulty or the the product was not the highest quality. Maybe try a different brand.

When they are heavily pitted and aged, they turn opaque and tend to yellow.

I just let them pit. When they get bad, I'll replace them.

haha gotcha

Reason I asked is that on my E46 there is zero pitting after 45k miles. I have only seen this on most lower end cars, and older BMWs E36s etc. I thought the quality of materials had increased and this was no longer a big issue.
