Oh yes! Finally! I'm super excited to see how this progresses as it's the only means by which I'd seek out supercharging.

Hearing about twin screw brings me back to my E46 330 days... Almost positive it was ESS that made that kit.

I don't agree. If you can manage to start the car with a positive displacement supercharger atached to your engine with ITB then you are good. The fuel/ignition/VANOS tuning is a piece of cake compared to what it takes to remove the ITB's and having a happy ECU at the same time. I've been involved in a similar project, not a easy thing to do at all. Props to anyone who did the electronic stuff.

And BTW, from what it looks like it's a roots type blower not a twin screw. TVS is a very efficient blower but i would definitely swap that for a Whipple or Kennebell's latest units. Still, a great achievement supremepower, hope you enjoy your car. I had the pleasure to drive a TS'd S65 (built motor though with a bigger SC) and the experience was just amazing. I had a negative feeling about positive displacements for S65, but now i'm all about ditiching the centriguals.

BTW what's the boost?

Had a long talk with Supreme and the Harrop representatives @ Bimmerfest, looking forward to seeing this on our dyno soon.

What are the advantages over current offerings? What are the expected power gains?

Very cool idea but when I spoke to them at Bimmerfest they said they are just starting to look into tuning it. Looking forward to them trying to figure out how to make it run properly, this is not an easy task.

I was shocked to see this as well. I posted a thread about this very thing a while back. I'm sure hardware wouldn't have been designed if they didn't think it was possible to tune. Why would they make the investment otherwise. Best of luck to you guys with this project and I can't wait to see updates.

Had the pleasure of seeing this in person at Bimmerfest and for a couple seconds I didn't even notice the supercharger until I glanced back at it a couple of times. It could easily pass as a stock manifold to the untrained eye.

Soorena... you are correct! This is a roots type supercharger
The guys from Harrop were really knowledgeable and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more positive feedback once this kit is released.

Interesting. Could appeal to some who feel the M3 motor "lacks torque".

With max torque perhaps available at 2,000 RPM (or lower), the S65 will feel like a LS-variant motor.

Questions:

Will it be able to retain the 8,400 RPM limit or will it need to limit RPM's to some lower level to prevent out-of-control IAT's at the top of the rev-range?

Will it be available for the DCT transmissions or will they need to be strengthened to handle the gobs of additional torque?

Will there need to be complemetary modifications to aid in traction - like an upgraded LSD or other driveline components to deal with the massive increase in torque at the low-end of the RPM range?

Will it be able to prevent over-heating oil temps at the track on hot summer days?

Can it run on 91 octane?

Has a roots/twin screw blower ever been affixed to a Ferrari, Lambo or other low-displacement, high revving motor like the S65?
