2008 E90 price help
So I’m hoping to become a BMW owner and would like a sanity check. I have concerns over getting maintenance as I’m not in a large metropolitan area but I’ll work that out. I also tend to research/analyze stuff to the point of being anal. Anyway, I’ve found the car below out of state at a large internet based used car seller. I have a co-worker that bought a Toyota sight unseen from them and enjoyed the experience and loves his car (he bought a Prius).
2008 E90 M3 6MT, Black with Tan interior, NO Nav, Moon roof, only 28,127 Miles (looks like a base car) Asking $35,980 So from me searching this forum and some pricing (KBB, NADA, BlackBook) that seems high, especially since it looks to be a base car. I’d appreciate your thoughts…. V |

Maybe $30K just because of the low miles. Seriously check out the poster above me. I do not know the man but if I hadn't just got my car his would be in my driveway and I would have $5K still in my pocket.

As much as I hear that this is too high.....I have an 08 E90, 59k, 6MT, premium package, nav, sunroof...pretty much the only thing I don't have is the cold weather package. Given the interest rates being offered, I talked w/my credit union 2 weeks ago about obtaining a loan on my car to use for another opportunity cost. They told me they'd give me $29,154.
Given that, I think the $35k the owner is asking for isn't overly high @ all. |

Thanks for the kind words! Much appreciated. I have tried to price the car low enough to draw a serious buyer. Certainly, the car has a lot to offer. Hopefully, we'll find her a new home soon

I think the price is absolutely high. I bought a 2011.5 e90 m3 about a month ago. One owner , nice maintenance records. Even the lifetime fluids have been changed, brake fluid , coolant, power steering fluid, new battery. Mint , not a scratch or rock chip anywhere on the car. Fully loaded with all options except zcp.Has tech package, premium package , comfort access, dct, premium sound , I drive , nav, xenon adaptive headlights, 36,000 mile warranty ($1,200 extra for warranty). 68,000 miles for $36,000. space gray. I can't think of anything else to tell you except that you should keep shopping. I searched for 6 months or more to find the right car and I found many better deals than what you're looking at. Good luck

Additionally, dude has low mileage. And a lot of people will pay a premium for that. |

Putting your unnecessary passive aggressiveness aside, you still would not get $36k for your car on the private market unless you found someone who did no research on current market value. The OP is doing research and that price is too high for that car IMO. It has low miles but still no warranty and no guarantee that the base model car did not spend a lot of time at a track.

Those are low miles for an '08. A fair price is $32K IMHO.
I ding it for being a stripper (personal preference), but plus it up for low mileage. Even though I paid $28K (pre-tax, etc.) for my '08, I've already put $1500 into it to refresh the interior and will eventually need to do both valve cover gaskets. By the time I'm done I will be in for $30K+. Would have been easier to just pay more upfront for less wear and tear. |

2008 M3 convertible for sale
Hello all, new to the forum... I just wanted to way in and say I have my M3 for sale...
Bought it 5/13 with 7092 miles on it, now has 20,500 miles. Every option available except parking sensors, full frontal clear bra, carbon fiber rear spoiler, new Bridgestone SO4's, new battery and registered, all maintenance records, and BMW PPI performed last year for potential buyer, who ended up low balling me, and of course with no issues... Don't have time to enjoy and too many other toys... I bought an 84mo/75k mile extended Platinum warranty when I purchased the car so the balance of the contract can be purchased for extra if desired. I just picked mine up 2 months ago and also searched for a while.
I paid $29k for 08 E90 6MT SSII/Fox Red w/ 79k miles. Has iDrive Nav, Premium Sound, Xenons, 220 wheels. Condition of car in/out is near perfect. I agree with others that at that price point I'd probably be looking for 09 and up. |
