This thread saved my ass. If only you guys could have seen my fat contortionist ass opening the folding seats through the ski passthrough and opening my trunk. If there's a god, homeboy probably laughed his dick off.

TY!

That's because you have an older production model.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I just had this happen and have one solution not mentioned above. So I did remove the center cushion ski pass through, but instead of trying to crawl through it, I was able to reach 1 arm through and pull the lever to let the seats fold down. And I'm a pretty short guy with short arms, so anyone should be able to do it this way :P

Edit: And I did try the jump start method, but it didn't work

I live in a condo so don’t have a tender. I don’t daily drive it, but try to get it out every weekend to keep the battery charged, seals tight, and tires round. With my prior E46, the battery would die after 2 weeks so I got in the habit of just disconnecting the battery after each drive. I’d power down the car, pop the trunk, lock the doors with the remote, disconnect a cable, close trunk, done. When going back to the car, I’d manually open the trunk, connect the cable, and then use the fob to unlock/open the doors and be off. Sounds like a PITA but it really wasn’t bad.
With my new-to-me ‘11 E90, I have no idea what I’ll need to do other than drive it more often. No key hole on the trunk, and FML, no fold down rear seats. Standard on the coupe and optional on the sedan, F U BMW.

Remove the lower seat pad and remove the 2 T50 bolts that hold the bottom of the seat back in place, pull out gently and slide under it and into the trunk, pull the safety release. Its really not hard at all.

I used my old hockey stick to pull down that glow in the dark trunk release thing

My 2011 bmw 328i hardtop convertible top wont go down, I had lots of things in the trunk, I'm thinking there is something get loose and stuck somewhere in the truck thats why trunk isn't going down, I was trying to see if I can access trunk from inside and move those things out of the way, but so far I couldn't find anything
