HELP: Rear shade won't retract

Greetings chaps and chapettes,

I am the caretaker of an E92 w/ a rear power shade (sun blind). Pressing the power blind button originally generated a click from the front dash and also from the rear/shade itself. I tried pulling it out manually and after some force it popped out. Hitting the button allowed the remainder of the raising mechanism to flex out, but when hitting again to lower it it makes a loud vibrating sound and won't lower.

Searching has brought me little guidance outside of the tedious task of changing the unit itself.

Any ideas on how to restore the use of my precious shading?

Sounds like the motor has gone on the blind unit mate.
