Sound deadening for under seat subwoofers

Hello,

I have been searching for information on installing sound deadening (dynamat, etc) to the subwoofers under the seat, but couldnt find specific info. I ordered bavsound subwoofers and plan to install it this weekend for my EPS system in my e92 m3.

I was wondering if anybody installed sound deadening for the subs and if its even needed? If somebody installed it do they recommend it or feel any significance difference in sound quality?

Finally where and how did you install the sound deadening?

Any information will be appreciated. Thanks!

Just curious why you are looking to do this? Do you think the bass sounds bad from outside?

I thought it would helping in delivering better sound and punch from the bass. I have heard not to expect big amounts of bass from the bavsound subs so i figured dynamt may help in getting every little bit out of the subs.

I am a complete newb to all this, and could be wrong.

I used some Stinger Roadkill when putting in my focals.
No issues getting them installed after.

Hard to tell if it really improved much since I did everything at the same time.

Have you noticed if it changed the tone from outside the car when bumping it? For some reason the stock EPS sub sounds terrible from outside.

From outside? You mean from outside of the car?

If I listen to a bass heavy track, from the outside of the car(with windows down) the bass sounds like its cracking but inside the cabin it sounds normal.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, who cares what it sounds like outside the car?

If i understand correctly they vent into the sideskirts which rattle when the bass is turned up or on bass heavy songs.

Never really listened to it from the outside before the sub install.
I can tell you that bumping it now (after sub upgrade and deadening) my skirts DO NOT rattle and there are no shakes or rattles that I can hear or have heard.

I have never had a problem with rattles inside or out.
