Replace Cylinder Head Cover

Mileage:
107,670 KM

Time Used:
6~7 hours (including engine cool down by fan for 30 minutes)

Parts Used:
Spark Plug x 8
Ignition Coil x 8
Cylinder Head Cover x 2 (including Profile-Gasket, Oil Separator, Screws)
REINZOSIL VICTOR REINZ Silicone Gasket Sealer Gasket Sealing Compound Seal

PS: I forget to order O-ring for Camshaft position sensor, so I keep using old one but applying some Compound Seal

Thanks:
Ian @ Turner Motorsport (He gave me discount for my order and also the missing part taken from the custom officer)
My friend Jacky (former BMW technician)

Question:
Why I still get Misfire error (2B42-2B4E) during Cold Start?

That’s an odd looking super charger you’ve got (first pic), how much boost are you getting with it?

I'll be doing the same thing in the near future. I planned on having the valve covers dipped/powder coated. What did you pay for new covers?

I was thinking the same thing but I need to drive it daily. Therefore, I paid around 550 each in Turner Motorsport. Maybe I will have the old ones coated.

I guess a lot but this is the fastest way to cool it down
We did clean them later after covers changed.

Are you located outside of the states?
I paid $75 per wheel that I had coated. My guess is it will be the same for the covers. I'll have to look into it. Hoping there will not be issues with sealing gaskets and whatever else bolts into them. I'll have to search for a thread and hope that my guy has done then before. Cool thread and thanks for the pics.

Sorry 550 is for new one! I guess coating is around 150 each.

BTW, I compared the Spark Plug I changed this time and last time (2014). It looks like more oil on Spark this time due to the internal leak.

It’s possible your errors are coming from your fuel tank vent valve. Especially if you experience stalls after long drives. Just a guess tho.

Just curious, what torque spec did you use for the valve cover bolts? Am thinking of doing this down the road as well.

Before to get those misfires codes 2B42 to 2B49 & 2B4E, did you change your exhaust system (front pipe ? X pipe ?) or were you only stock with OEM exhaust ?
