▀▄ eas | ESS Tuning G1/G1+ Intercooled Supercharger Systems now released!

ESS Tuning is a name that has become synonymous with uncompromised performance in the BMW world. With over 2000 S65 supercharger systems sold since 2008, ESS's E9X M3 S65 supercharger kit is by far the most popular BMW supercharger system worldwide.

The ESS G1 intercooled Supercharger System produces a massive 150-180whp gain from stock depending on fuel used and exhaust system installed. It is supplied with both 91AKI/95RON and 93AKI/98RON pulleys as standard. ESS G1+ users can expect a 180-220whp gain over stock depending on fuel quality and pulley used,

ESS's kit improves upon the OEM intake manifold, adding in a custom cast aluminum manifold with optimized runners flowing into CNC’d aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum velocity stacks to smooth out airflow and reduce disruptive turbulence entering the throttle bodies, and is centered around the market’s largest liquid intercooler system. This ensures the intake charge temps remain in check during prolonged use on the track, autobahn, or street. The manifold was designed not only for optimum flow, but to be both aesthetically pleasing while keeping weight to a minimum to not disrupt the iconic handling balance of the M3.

The new ESS G1 supercharger head unit is by far the lightest high capacity supercharger in the industry weighing in at only 9.5lbs and offering unparalleled efficiency, build quality and ultra low noise levels. However, what really sets the S65 kit above all the others is ESS's software tuning. For over 22 years, ESS has lived and breathed BMW’s, and it becomes apparent the second you sit behind the wheel of an ESS tuned car. The kit will include the ESS E-Flash OBD2 cable and specific MSS60 engine software that has undergone over a decade of revisions to get perfected to where it is today. The E-Flash interface (include) allows the end user to upload the supercharger ECU software from any PC running Windows 7 or newer and includes full diagnostic and code clearing capability. Any future ESS software updates can be received by email and loaded directly to the car. The stock ECU software will be saved and can easily be restored in the future.

ESS G1/G1+ system maintains all OBD-II functions and it is backed by a comprehensive 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty program. The G1 kit takes 6-12 hours (8-14 hours for G1+) to install using normal hand tools and no irreversible modification to the car is necessary.

ESS G1/G1+ Supercharger systems are a reflection of their zero compromise approach to supercharging. Only the best quality components are granted a place in their kits and you can be sure it all fits with absolute precision. After development, ESS vigorously tests both the hardware and software, putting them through their paces on the street, track, and autobahn. Through this, we achieve reliability and quality that is on-par with the OEM themselves. This helps create the ever-desired OEM+ look for an appearance that says “take me out for a nice dinner, but don’t be afraid to use the back roads and let me loose on the way home.”

ESS G1/G1+ Supercharger Components

ESS G1 Supercharger System Specs
6.5-7.5 PSI intercooled, 150-180whp gain over stock depending on fuel quality and pulley used, torque: 30-40% gain over stock depending on fuel quality and pulley used

ESS G1+ Supercharger System Specs
7.5-9 PSI intercooled, 180-220whp gain over stock depending on fuel quality and pulley used, torque: 35-50% gain over stock depending on fuel quality and pulley used

ESS G1+ Supercharger Systems

The ESS G1+ Supercharger system is designed for 93AKI/98RON fuel or above exclusively, in order to use the included high boost supercharger pulley a methanol injection system (available separately) must be installed. We recommend the Snow Performance Stage 2 system using the #5 nozzle set to 3PSI start and 7PSI full gain. Torco or VP methanol is recommended.

This G1+ system is based on the S65 G1 supercharger system and contains all of the same components with the exception of:

- ESS S65 G1+ specific 7rib beltdrive system with all billet pulleys and idlers
- ESS G1+ spec fuel injectors
- Manifold pre configured for Snow Performance methanol injection system.
- Perfectly optimized, dyno tweaked MSS60 ECU software with removed top speed governor, calibrated for G1+ spec injectors
- 7PK S65/92mm (93AKI/98RON) and 7PK S65/88mm (93AKI/98RON + methanol) supercharger pulleys.

ESS will still continue to carry the original Vortech-based superchargers alongside their G1/G1+ line. We are accepting pre-orders for G1/G1+ systems in the meantime with systems shipping mid-December. Full sales, installation and dyno tuning available in-house.

For further info, please contact any of our sales staff directly and we will be happy to assist.

Methanol is injected into the intake plenum, underside. We offer our own replacement stacks separately if wanting to go that route.

G1/G1+ utilizes completely different bracket system compared to previous Vortech-based kits.

We all know ESS kits have been popular. What is ESS offering current customers that want to go the G1+ setup?

More like what it would take get a G1+ setup on an existing kit.

Sorry if I did not explain that well before.

Upgrade path for existing VT2 users to G1/G1+ will be announced at a later date.

G2/G3 are race-only hardware, suited for custom/specialty/race engine builds. Haven't even reached the full potential of G1 kits yet.

If the G1+ is already having to run more boost than the Vortech, and the added boost is requiring meth injection, wouldn’t a bigger blower that can make more power more efficiently and not require meth make sense?

It is the first time that I think that it is a real option to install in my car .. with the kit, nothing more is needed? Do you already have the software included in the price?

It would be to install it in Spain, here there is no support of any kind .. if you want to have one and advertise it I hope PM hehe

If the car is already ecu tunning, no problem?

Thank you, very good kit waiting for more results in dyno

Some of us prefer to push the envelope on our own. I race my m3 at half mile and dig events. Unless somone can show me a dyno of a g1+ making north of 680whp I’m not interested in going with a smaller blower. The g1 blower is smaller than the current vortech unit, you have to spin it harder to make the same power as the v3 which is why it makes more tq at the same hp. I am not interested in tryna to make more tq I’m looking for more hp. I am already currently a full E85 supercharged car not using a flex kit but an actual E85 tune. So what is one has to do in order to get a g2/g3 blower and bracket. Not looking for any tunning support.

Yes, the software is included in the price. And it doesn't matter if you already have a tune on your car.

Let me know if you want me to bring this to Spain in Christmas!

Your specific goals would fall in the custom category, which is different from turn-key supercharger systems.

Contact me via email and I’lll have an G2 upgrade path quoted for you.

Where can we find the overlaid dyno comparisons of your new G1 versus the older VT2? These are priced about the same. Also, you guys claim "ultra low noise" levels which appeals to me ... any sounds clips of the G1 yet?

Once kits ship and we are able to install/dyno, we'll be sharing that info.

Cool kit, can you PM the price for the G1?
Anxious to see dyno plots versus the VT kits, and even a Harrop. Peak numbers are all great, but the curve and drivability is more important IMO.

It just so happens I am researching and comparing SC kits for future consideration. Great to see the introductiom of some new hardware, especially so late in this chassis life. Anxious to see reviews and numbers!
