I power washed my old clear off, getting the spray under the delaminated clear.

Then just took it to a buddy's shop and they sprayed it. It was actually pretty simple.

It's not that simple. My car is at the body shop now having it done. They used a razor blade to get the layer that is peeling off and then need to sand it down a bit and then apply several coats of clear. To do it right you need to remove the windshield and back glass. Most likely the seals are around both are cracked/broken and need to be replaced when they put the glass back in.

Sounds like they over complicated it big time. I don't see why they would use a razor blade to remove the gel coat as it peels off easily once it's chipped? Front and rear windshields don't need to be removed. Perhaps the weather stripping. You shouldn't need to sand the carbon fiber before applying clear either otherwise you run the risk of damaging the weave. I basically did exactly what the other comment did and it came out like new.

I think you need to remove the glass to change the weather stripping. Mine was really dried up and cracked.

You can replace that trim without windshield removal, fairly inexpensive too.

I re did my roof because of yellowing. What I did was have the shop spray 4 coats of clear and let it settle for a month. Went back for 4 more coats after. Looks great. Really happy I did

The front window trim did not fit after removal. I had a shop remove the front windshield and re install it with a new trim.

I don't get this, to me the yellowing looks like what happens to Epoxy resin with UV exposure. Epoxy doesn't have any UV protection and automotive clear does. Why wouldn't or diddnt they slam a few layers of polyurethane clear on it? Epoxy and carbon is not new technology, even at the time our cars were built.

But to me doing the clear in stages like the shop did on your car is the only way to do it.

This is correct.
When the Safelite installer came to my house to replace my sandblasted and cracked windshield last month he looked puzzled and said "This is an '08? Original windshield? This trim is in the best shape I've ever seen on one of these cars. They're usually all rotted and cracked."

I told him that I watched a youtube DIY video and replaced the trim 2 years ago.

When he installed the new windshield, he put the trim on the glass before lowering the glass.
Used the trim as the location gauge. Pretty clever.

The did initially just remove the clear and re cleared it. Looked yellowish. I did some research on the forums and told the shop to remove the yellow and then re clear
