Changing the side grills are a Pain!!
So my painted side grills came in today and.... I never knew what I was in for. I have never been so nervous changing something on a car but sticking a screw driver with tape on the end into the crack of my light.... Yikes Well none the less the new side grills are in and they look great one M sticker is maybe a mm too long but I can live with it as its an aftermarket part. I did brake the forward upper tab on both sides removing the stock ones but from all the pictures Ive seen it looks like most people break the same tab trying to remove the stock grills...
I will post pictures tomorrow once there is some light out. |

Just did mine a few weeks ago using the packing tape method on my E90..came out no problem (but you do really have to tug...I wore gloves to really get good grip and not have the tape dig into my hand). Admittedly, a couple of the tabs (one on each side) cracked a little, but there are quite a few tabs remaining and new ones went in / were secured with no issues

Should have used tape like some posters have said. Completely easy that way. For this and lots of other mods there are loads of pictorial / video guides on here that I have found to be invaluable.
