Mazdaspeed 3

Well there's this kid with an MS3 and he claims he has 300whp on his car. And that could not be possible without a turbo swap, and some other modifications. Him and all his flipno friends think they can beat me in a straight. But he's not stock, he has Intake, Downpipes, Test Pipe, and soon to be a Boost Control. I know i'll beat this kid in a straight, but should i? I know street racing is bad and all that, but i'm a kid myself, and I don't know what to do. Hahah, and winner gets $60.

ALSO, he has an HKS BOV, therefore he lost some power. and he got his cats deleted.

Oh, and we're in hsigh school. Haha, i know this is childish, but i want to shut all his friends up. Oh, and he's a horrible driver

I'm ready to get flamed..

did i put this in the right section?

1. Why would you put your car down to his level? Makes no sense. So some guy has a civic running 30PSI, doesn't mean I have to race him.

2. You say the guy is a horrible driver right? So if he hits/kills someone you do know you're now involved right?

3. Just go to a track

Well the Mazda speed3's are not slow by any means. Stock to stock it would be close but you should take him. If he's not stock (depending on what he has) he could easily take you. Again, depends on what he has done.

Race him around a bend then see who wins, jp, one of you will crash. Go to a track man

BTW, my car is stock. and he doesn't even a tune.

Street racing is bad and dangerous. Keep it on the track or just say "whatever, my car is nicer to cruise in." i have a mazda 3(not the speed) as well and i'd rather drive the BMW anyday.

My car before my 335 was a mazdaspeed 6. With light mods (CIA, chip, DP) I had it at 315ish bhp (258 awhp), and was running a 13.8 1/4 mile. The speed 3 has the same engine, less traction (is FWD), but is ligher). I imagine it would be a similar 0-60.

I would imagine that is close to a stock 335 time, so would be a close race IMO. And yes, take it to a track...

Don't do it. You're lucky enough to be in high school and driving a 335. There's no need to 'shut anyone up' or prove anything to anyone. Be mature about it and just move on. High school immaturity + powerful cars = disaster potential.

Take it to a track. I mean it. Find an eigth mile or quarter mile drag strip nearby (they're EVERYWHERE), call 'em up or google for their web page. They'll list when they have open-car night.

This way, you and your buddy can go to a place designed for this, with safety gear, safety vehicles, official timing lights, the whole nine yards, and, when all's said and done, timeslips.

Whoever wins, it'll be official.

Oh, and an MS3 will have lots of problems putting the power down to the ground off the line, especially when modded. You'll get him out of a dig for sure, unless you royally suck at launches.

Take it to Irwindale speedway. Thursday night is drag racing night there, IIRC. Give the crowd a good show and of course, it's safer. Telling impulsive teenagers not to pull this or that dangerous stunt is like telling a town drunk to sober up. We all know he's gonna do it.

...don't start your life with something tragic like an accident at 100+ mph during a street race... over what, some jag-off telling you his ricer is faster...?? seriously...??

c'mon you're sportin' a Beemer for cripes sake... this is a luxury sedan/coupe that happens to have oodles of oomph... enjoy it, don't waste your opportunity to move ahead in life and become a man with responsibilities of your own... one day you'll be able to afford to buy your own 335 instead of driving Dad's...

don't f%ck around on the street... take everyone's advice, be responsible for your safety and the safety of your amigos... take any challenge to the track... there'll be no harm & no foul in running a red light in the traps...

oh, and tell him to get a job so he can afford to drive the ultimate driving machine too... LOL...

It's not my pop's car... It was a hand down from my brother. He paid the car with his life.
