Buying a used M that has been tracked?
Are there any downsides? I understand that the cat has been driven really hard, but aren't these cars designed to do that? I'm not really sure what the downside would be if the car was well maintained. Consistent oil changes, alignments, pads replaced, new tires when needed, etc? Thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.

Check for stress points in the chassis and suspension. These cars are designed to be sporty but no street cars are designed to handle the rigours of the track often. Check the rotor thickness, get a print out of the over revs, check suspension mounts and bushings for play, etc.
