I'm not new to BMW, but whenever I tried to buy an M3, something got in the way. This time was different, this time the M3 found me! I'll spare you the long story and get right to the pics. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! As usual, here some crappy iPhone pics, I'll find a location and break out the DSLR this weekend.

2013 E92 M3 ZCP / Space Grey Metallic

Thanks to Lexus of Woodland Hills for a flawless sales process.

Congrats on a nice M3! It looks like the previous owner cared for it and did some tasteful mods.

Cool!

How did you end up with this E92?
I completely forgot that was there lol - I'll update it later today.

Short story (not really): I used to travel every week, and we had our third child and needed a solid third row. We ditched the 328ix and bought an Acura MDX. All the while, I'm seeing all these beautiful M4s flying around LA and getting the bug. But there was one thing I couldn't shake... they sound terrrrrrrible (just my opinion).

So I get a new job, no travel required and we need a second car. My wife says, if you're gonna get a sports car, make sure we can all fit. Ugh. So F80 M3 or F10 M5? (This is where I updated my signature)

I search and search, even consider leasing. Remember, I've got three boys who you know, need an education and stuff, so I gotta be fiscally responsible too. Then I quit. I rent a Dodge Charger for a couple weeks and think hey, I get great rental rates, it'll cost me $733 a month to rent this Charger and that ain't bad.. I'll just wait a couple months. I shared this with my boss and he gave me this look like, "dude, that's dumb. Go get the car you want."

I don't reeeeally want an F80 M3. I don't want an F10 M5 (a little big for canyon drives). I want what I drooled over but couldn't afford when I first started working back in 2007. I want that V8. I want that competition package. But... i couldn't find the right one in my budget. *Sigh*

I did find E93 M3 close by that seemed ok. I went to go see it but no one was there. I really needed a car, so I called last Friday afternoon and made an appointment to stop by on Saturday.

Friday night rolls around, wife and kids are asleep and I'm UP... eBay, Autotrader, Hemmings and good ol' Cars.com. Nothing. I decide that if the E92 is really what I want, and I'm gonna keep it for eternity, then 10 grand is not too steep of a price to pay. Then, I changed my search settings.

At the top of the list was THE car. I called the next day, it was available. I go, test drive and fall in love. There's literally 2 other people after me waiting to test drive. But i always take time to think about these things, at least 24 hours.

3 hours later, I call to see if anyone else bought it. My salesperson said that the guy after me wanted it, but he found an Alpine White one with red leather that he's gonna fly out and buy in Arizona. I said, I'm on my way.

The rest is history... or rather it's just the beginning!

It has almost 68k which at about 12k miles a year felt ok to me. The previous two owners had that car serviced at BMW dealerships so I felt good about that. The first 75 miles have been great so far.

I'm in Sherman Oaks... heading out to Malibu Cars & Coffee the weekend of your interested!

I guess the wife's requirement to fit the entire family was negotiable? Didn't find any good example e90s?
