Both weekends work for me, but April 28/29 is probably better, since May 22nd we're already doing Mosport GP.

Agree, April 28/29 might be better. We also have the DDT on June 3rd, and forgot about GP on the 22nd..

Is there a way to get a calendar on this forum where we could post all the events? Or can we link a google calendar or something.. would be nice to have all the events listed somewhere central where everyone can see.

This is a great deal for 2 days at Mosport. Signing up today.

Was a great event last year, good times running with the really high powered Mustangs.

UPDATE--Just registered. Good value for Mosport.

Calabogie

Anyone planning to go to Calabogie on April 28th? If so, is someone arranging us a special rate or do we just pay at the track or online? Accommodations?

I was originally planning to do the April 28-29 calabogie days but didn't hear back with confirmed plans. I wouldn't want to do calabogie for just one day since its a bit of a trek. If the 28-29 isn't happening i'll probably hit Mosport with bmw trillium.

I attended a Trillium event last year, I was not all the impressed. It was at the DDT, so perhaps their events at the big track are a little better. My father in law came out to the event too, it was his first track event and his instructor was pretty unprofessional.

Not sure if I would attend another one of their events.

I'm not that big a fan of them either - I was at an event last year, and it was ok. Duncan and the crew are much better instructors and I find more approachable. This event is at the big track, and part of the fee is tax deductible, so its a pretty good deal. I really just want to get some more lap days in this month, and the EA days are too expensive for my taste.

I do 1-2 events a year with Trillium, and I have been very lucky with instructors with only one miss (he crashed a day before and was scared to let me really drive). The others were REALLY good - some active races and all very professional and personable. I generally like their events with one caveat - you get about ~60% of track time per day that you get with good lapping groups. Considering that they charge for two days just a bit more than some charge for a day, it comes down to the same value though, just stretched across two days instead of one. Another plus there is that there fewer hot-heads than in other events I've been with (or maybe instructors are keeping them in check), so fewer interruptions due to black flags and generally less drama. A bit formal atmosphere is a minus, but I do not really care - I follow the rules as long as they do not interfere with my enjoyment of the process and side with my enjoyment if there is a conflict (they kicked me down to Group C for discipline few years back, but was not a problem since).

I just signed up for the April event with them.

^ Glad to hear you're going to the April event. I'm planning on going as well - I just want to make sure the weather is good.

In general, I think the rules are fine, never had a problem with them, but I had the same issue you described with the instructor. I totally get that they want to do the first few sessions at 6/10ths so you can have time to listen and react to what the instructor says. But at some point, you've got to be able to go faster (assuming you aren't doing anything wrong) with them so that you can really start using the skills you've learnt.

In the past I have been black flagged for using the rain line in the rain at a Trilium Day at the Mosport GP There is a huge variance in the teaching & driving skills of the instructors at these days.

Where does one sign up for the Trillium Mosport GP event on April 28-29?
