I don't know who the trucking company is.

I guess I have a challenge for the rest of lunch...

I'm not so sure this is true. None of the trucking company sites I've found so far provide tracking capabilities. Lots of online quoting, but no tracking.

Thanks Duncan, why aren't all the sites like that.
By the way:

Booking # XXXXX

Origin: Cn Montreal

Vehicle(s): VIN: XXXXXX
2011/M3
Pickup Date: ETA:
Status: Pending

Destination: MONTREAL, QC
Customer: ITCBMW
Bill To Customer: ITC

So looks like this could be the company my car will travel with. Confusing that the Origin and Destination are the same (or at least from CN [rail?] Montreal to some other random Montreal address).

Who is "ITC"?

Sounds like you'll be roaming around hunting for your car transporter later this evening... LOL

There is some kind of hockey game in Montreal tonight so I'm definitely not driving up there tonight in case they win.

No kidding, it has taken 10 days since it arrived in Halifax to get off the train in Montreal.

Now the long weekend will slow the drive to Ottawa.

Sweet! Congratulations. If I find it hard waiting for the new M3 even while I'm still driving an M3 (and not waiting very long), I can only imagine the pain you must feel waiting as long as you have AND driving a Cobalt .

Have fun picking it up this week!!

Hmmm no idea why it trimmed the link.... Annoying.

EDIT: I _may_ have gone back and sat in my car in a locked dealer lot...

Another crappy iphone pic, but notice the Nav screen is blank. North American maps not loaded yet. It was funny, when I got in the Nav was still routed to the Hotel Kempinski at the Munich airport.

I'm not 100% sure that it would have had shipping blocks installed. I'll take a look though. I know what they look like. Apparently they are doing the few small items to my car later this afternoon. But I'll drop by at lunch and peak around the PS2's and see if there are shipping blocks installed.

Things on my post ED mental checklist:

- Install front plate frame (though Mark hinted at rumors of the Ontario law changing, perhaps if it does I'll slap my Euro plate back on to cover the holes)
- Install North American Nav Maps
- Activate Satellite Radio
- Activate Teleservices
- Check for shipping blocks
- Check for locking wheel bolts (I'm owed some, do most of you guys have them?)

In reality, if I get the nod from the insurance today, even if the techs don't have time to look at my car, I'm asking for the plates. I'll put home and remove any shipping blocks in my drive if they are still there.

I'm done waiting. :P

EDIT: Also as part of my parking lot reconnaissance - I snapped another pic of the odometer. My car had been driven 10km's since I dropped it off. Which doesn't sound far enough for anyone to have any fun, but it was more than I expected. I'm OK with that though. I'll know exactly how far the techs drive my car today though. At most it should be a couple of km's and that's only if they fill up my gas tank for me....

Before I even had to ask to keep them at the Login out, they asked me. On the passenger seat is a little pre-printed page asking that the plates be kept with the vehicle.

In the rear window is a big page with

"European Delivery"
Customer....James......

Is neat, stands out from the other cars dropped off the same day.

Also I'm thinking of getting a personalized plate the same as my european plate:

M 2531 Z

Nostalgic or a waste of $250?

Thats awesome! I'm a stickler for collecting "memorabilia" of my cars, and was disappointed to learn that CAD bound M3s don't come with a typical window sticker anymore
