Oct 2 Mosport DDT Trackday

Ok guys, here is our next trackday on Friday,October 2nd at the Mosport DDT.We will be limiting this event to a small entry to insure lots of tracktime for all those that are able to attend. There will be limited amount of instructors to help out the students that will require on track instruction and there will be onsite classroom instruction also for new students. We well have our usual crew of Top Notch instructors to provide a professional level of instruction. The groups will be set based on experience levels to minimize traffic levels and the event will professionally marshaled by Motorsport Marshalling Services as we have always done in the past at our days. Our last event at the DDT was sold out 1 week before the date so please do not hesitate to sign up especially if you require an instructor.

Proper Helmets, long pants & long sleeves required

Lunch will be included.

$250 and this money can be EMT'd to myself or a cheque to the address that can be provided.

You can contact myself at (w)905 764 4137(c) 416 432 4617 or vetteman@sympatico.ca

Hey guys, I'm interested but already signed up for a Sieya Motorsports day at Mosport on Oct. 6. Don't think I have enough tires left for two track days, but thinking I may still swing by to check you guys out on the Friday. Haven't met most of you yet, so this could be a good opportunity. Is this cool?

By the way, I have been thinking about organizing a ride for one day this fall.. basically meet up and go drive some of my favorite twisty roads. Any of you interested in this?

Even if your not going to track you should drop by - will be a fun day! I am sure you will get plenty of interest for a ride - just post it in the meet thread!

Does anyone know a place to get a helmet that MoSport would approve - that's not too crazily priced?

The DDT is a fun track - and on these days there is no shortage of track time! You should come out if you can.

Whats your budget? I bought mine at Mantis in Oakville - around $500 or so. SA 2005 rated. I know that there are a few places in Toronto that sell SA helmets. IMO its worth investing a bit more and having a helmet you can take to any track. I know some people you motorcycle helmets and havent had any problems though.

Sa2005 helmets are preferable, but M2005 helmets are accepted by most track day organizers on non roll bar equipped cars.If you plan to go real racing later on then go for a SA2005 helmet as that will be what you will need for that.

Rob & I are thinking of trying something a little different this time.Continue with the clockwise direction to lunch & switch to the counter clockwise for the afternoon. Here is a video of laps in the CCW direction.

What do you guys think?

I like the idea. In this video it looks like it may be slightly faster in that direction - but perhaps it is because this direction is straight down the hill rather than though the tight bit. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Oct 2.

Guess your going to have to find a new spot in the afternoon to spin into the infield!

Just kidding - looking forward to next week.
