I was a on a few GTR forums that speculated that Nissan is being a little dishonest about how many GTR's will actually be sold. Some say they might sell double the amount they are advertising for the US market....who knows though

Wow, that's awesome that you did all of that research, are there any dealers local to Oregon, Washington, northwest and so on that are offering their cars at MSRP? Thanks in advance.

Judging by the constant calls I get from a couple of local dealers I checked in with ( and that want 20k over MSRP )

Things are not going according to plan

Give it a couple months and the market will sort things out. Cars will be available at MSRP

I suspect not...because a lot of Nissan dealers are not selling GTR's because they did not do the 80 to 100K in service deptartment upgrades needed to sell/service the vehicle...

So, you have a relatively small number of dealers selling the car...does not make for a very competitive environment...especially in smaller markets...

+1. I think next year they will sell for a little below MSRP, unless the economy improves dramatically... but I don't really see that happening yet.

Theres a lot of hype built up, and this is the first year its coming to the USA. Given the amazing performance figures it's been throwing down coupled with high demand, low numbers. The greedy dealers will mark them up till things settle down, who knows when that is.

We control the market but then again im sure there are plenty of people out there with tons of money who dont mind paying the mark up just to be the first ones on the block with one a GTR.

I still remember the 10k markups on the e92 m3 until dealers realized that noones going to pay that much for them.
+1 Sometimes when I think about this I seriously get frustrated. There are so many good cars out there that come with more options and better prices.
You know what we are paying for: THE BRAND NAME. Thats it!

Take iDrive for example. It took BMW untill 2009 to make a high resolution display iDrive with Hard Disk, side buttons etc. Currently...it looks like garbage map display wise.
And with the new improvements, I bet they are going to want to raise the price some more now.

Yes, Yes...I know..."We didn't buy this car for iDrive etc."....but that doesn't mean we can't get some nicely done things with the car.

End Rant.

Great job Nissan/Infinity/Lexus etc. for making a great cars at good prices.
