M3 Tuners - What software are you using? WinOLS?

Hi tuners,

There currently isn't a software that I know of on the s65 M3 market that makes tuning easy such as MHD with the N54/55 stuff.

I know many of you are doing reflashes using a hex editor. Would any of you be willing to share some knowledge and point me in the right direction in terms of software used, cable required, and general process to pull data, rewrite, and flash?

Thanks in advance

All major tuners will use WinOLS for mapping.

I was vaguely involved in the creation of the flashing application made by the "other site" for the MSD80/81. I recall reading that it *should* be capable of reading/writing for the MSS60 as well. Could be worth a shot.

Anyone else willing to help. Maybe post a link or two for me to read?

Nobody wants to help with this. I've researched for hours. Hell, all I really need is a good forum with FAQ's

the ones with the correct answers are the ones you are asking to give up their secret sauce. I don't see it happening. sorry.

Sadly, Im not even asking for any "secret sauce"... maybe a link or two that would point me in the right direction or some reading material. What flasher module and cable would be nice too. that's really it. Their specific tunes is all them. I'll create my own.

All the major tuners use Freling racing stuff and each of them rebrand it. Extremely versatile but not made for the guy at home. Kess also works well but again not brillant for the home user.
Using anything else, especially something with an INPA cable can not go well

Thanks for the reply 332i. So I would purchase the read/write device such as Kess or Frieling racing and use a software such as WinOLS as the file editor?

I am in a similar situation where I am searching to understand my options with regards to tuning the S65 engine and DCT transmission.

Does it seem like WinOLS is the only editor to the internal calibrations on the stock ECU/TCU, and Frieling is the tool to transfer and flash the data on?

Thx
