ST BBK pads: Pagid RS29, Endless ME20, PFC 01, Porterfield R4

Dear members,

I've looked up a lot on forum regarding the brake pad information regarding ST BBK, but wasn't able to gather all the information that i would like to know. I am installing my ST 60/40 in a week, and would like to know the following information regarding each brake pads that i listed. Thank you

Brake Pads:
1. Wear (how many track days on it)
2. Fade resistance (especially after using pads more than 50%)
3. Stopping power

Thank you for your input.

Endless ME 20's on a Z06.

1. About 12 to 15 days on the fronts and over 25 days on the rear.
2. No fade at all.
3. Huge stopping power.

Thx! I'm debating mainly between ME20 vs Pagid 29. I heard ME20 won't last that long compared to Pagid RS29. For R4, it seems like the best bang for the money. Tough call..T.T

I have had Pagids before. They don't last nearly as long and they have a soft pedal feel. The Endless pads have a nice bite and are easy to modulate.

Endless and PFC tend to be more expensive, but they are easy on your rotors and they last quite a bit longer than the others. Many Tudor series race cars like Porsche and Corvette teams run both Endless and PFC.

Also, try Endless fluid as it less prone to absorb water, boil and gives a firmer pedal.

3rd set of RS29s for me. Great pads.

All of the pads you listed will do the job. You'll have to cycle through them to determine a preference. No right answer.

I'm a PFC fanboy. If it were my car, I'd drop in PFC 08's and be done with it for a long, long time.

I'd add the Stoptech Race Pads to your list. Pretty darned good pads at a lower price.

I've ran the following pads on OEM rotors & calipers and listed them from favorite to worst.
PFC-01 > Endless MX72 > Porterfield R4 > BMW OEM > Stoptech Street Performance.

I prefered PFC-01 for better bite, but MX72 was a great pad. Less initial bite, but modulation was great among all i listed. That's why I was considering ME20, which is another Endless product, but more aggresive than MX72.

The Stoptech SR34s are just like the PF01s.

Its about the same. I think its a rebadged PF01. On my E46 I have PF01s on one axle, SR34s on another. I rotate the pads and I honestly can't tell the difference. I don't even need to re-bed the brakes when I rotate the pads.

The SR34s are like PF01s with a $100 bill in the box for you.

Cobalt XR Fanboy here. Surprised more people don't use them.

Strong initial bite. Fade Proof (but I'm running cooling and Ti shims) 10-12 track days based on previous experience with these pads. But may get less this time since I've moved to slicks and aero.
