SC M3 VS M6 GranCoupe, 4.7 Vantage, Rapide, 4.7 GranTurismo

Been searching for a new daily (~10 mile commute) that I can also take on the occasional road trip.

Coming from a 6MT E92 335i, I initially began searching for a 6MT E92 M3 which I would like to supercharge. After doing some searching it seems like a clean E92 6MT + SC would cost around $45-60K which is fine.... but then I started to wonder what else is out there for that price range?

Here's what I found...

$31K 2008 BMW M3 83,000 Miles
VS
$47K 2014 BMW M6 GC 62,000 Miles
$46K 2013 GranTurismo 49,000 Miles
$65K 2012 Vantage 12,000 Miles
$65K 2012 AM Rapide 40,000 Miles

Planning on test driving a few local examples but wanted to see if any members had any feedback/experience with these cars and how they compare to the E9X generation M3.

If you were looking for the best driving experience (most smiles) in the $40-$60K range, what would you go for?

SC M3 or....

I would say it probably depends on what your commute is like. Bumper to bumper traffic? Straight highways? Twisty back roads?

The M3 is a delight on something twisty, but as a highway cruiser it wasn't great. The M6 is a heavy pig by comparison, but tons of torque and would be much more comfortable of a cruiser if you're mostly on the highway.

The others I can't speak to personally. Had a few folks I knew with Aston Martin's and the only feedback I got from them is you pay for the privilege, I can't see it being a great DD given the cost of maintenance, but again if you wanted something more GT car than sports car.

Enjoyed every day with my M3 as soon as the roads got twisty.

The S65 is gonna seem like a 2gr-fe in comparison to those engines in my opinion. Especially the m6 as there's a reason why you don't see them on the road as much anymore (they're all broken). The vantage probably isn't cheap to maintain but it's the closest to the e9x just with more exclusivity. I think it depends on what you value in a car.
