Either of the new Cadillac blackwings, in stick. The spiritual successor to the e90 M3.

If not that, cayman GTS, Elise, etc.

Buy a used Sports Car. Brand new cars from the dealership are a ripoff and are getting more and more unreliable. Try to get a special edition with extra goodies and to keep its value.

Audi R8

Porsche 911 997.2 GTS or Turbo
Porsche 911 997.2 GT3

Porsche 718 GT4

Mercedes AMG C63

Lexus IS-F
Lexus IS 500 F-Sport

Nissan GT-R R35 (NISMO Godzilla)

Shelby Mustang GT350R

Basically anything the @TheStraightPipes like.

Cheers

Good luck getting one. My coworker has been on the CT5 Blackwing order list since day 1 and just found out he can get an allocation IF he declines any carbon options which are still backordered.

Get another e92 m3 in a different color. Or another one in the same color.

I've always been pretty meh on the corvette. American build quality and a pushrod engine.

But the c8 z06... mid engined, flat planed v8, with american part prices, with a not exotic cost?

I suddenly care. I look forward to being able to test one to see how well it is executed in real life.

Emira, Vette and Cayman are good mid engine options. Depends how much you value sound, interior quality, ride quality ect

Bumping an old thread…

For me, a replacement to e92 M3 has to have:
NA V8 that feels special & sounds great.
Manual transmission.
Under $80,000.
Decent visibility & at least average ingress/egress for daily drivability.

I wonder what fits the bill..

Doesn’t exist. Or maybe it does = a used Aston Martin Vantage. PS: I see your 33.

Could also do a used Jaguar F-Type R Coupe V8.. which is similar to the above. Kind of..

Actually AM V8 is a good suggestion.. just not as confident about being able to work on it compared to the M3. There’s not as many DIY resources and reasonably priced parts availability for AM, red pants.lol is a good resource for DIY guys though!

Was 33 when I got my first BMW & joined the forum, it’s been a while..

Considered the F-type in the past, can’t get manual with the V8 & didn’t like the exhaust pops/bangs/burbles, was very close to buying one (dark green on tan).
Never drive the V6 manual though!

If money isn't a big issue 991 Turbo or GT3

honorable mention R8 V10. Love F8Xs and G8Xs as well but wouldn't trade my v8 for either

The answer is to buy another e9x m3.

There is no upgrade unless you are prepared to spend a decent amount of money. However if money was not an obstacle, and peak manual v8 was what I was after, the answer for me would probably be a manual swapped Ferrari 458 Itallia.

Manual swaps on older Ferraris are becoming alot more common, and these are OEM level fit and finish. It also makes an interesting value proposition on the F430.

The manual F430 is way more expensive than the single clutch automated manual version is. However, now you can buy an automatic and manual swap it for a fraction of the cost of a real manual f430.

The FL5 Type R has tickled my fancy recently, would never replace the E92 but will add one to the fleet once I can source one at MSRP.

This and the Corolla GR are my favorite cars for sale right now, cost no object

I am getting sick of fancy cars. My inner hillbilly wants to get out and walk around, but he's still practical and demands four doors and some usable cargo space
