True, but in Quebec city, they are kinda boring; they all look the same.

Need to think about something different.

Ahhh, figured you were closer to Montreal.

I love Quebec City, one of my favourite Canadian cities.

I love that you can go to certain areas and you can get Crepes and then next door you can get sex toys.

ahah, I know the spot you are referring to; in Old Quebec. In the middle of a slope near the Frontenac Castle?

Unfortunately, that creperie is now closed and the sex shop looks so vintage that i'm sure the "best before" date on rubbers they sell is like 10 years ago.

But there's plenty of those creperies.

Thanks. I took quite a few photos and nobody stopped me. I can't remember seeing any "no photography" signs.

Dunno. Never been there. I just thought I remembered reading somewhere about complaints that they wouldn't let you shoot pics. It's like that at Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. They want to sell you the pics themselves. Plus flashes are supposedly harmful to old artwork, which is why many museums won't let you use a flash.

If I remember correctly, you're not supposed to shoot in there, but people still seem to manage it. I'm thinking it depends on the day of the week and time of year

I was probably able to haul off about 20-30 pics...with a tripod, before I got busted. Nothing better than playing 'Dump American'

Many of the churches over there that don't want photo's.

Again, most of that is due to the destructive nature of flash photography. But telling people "No Flash Photography" is useless because most people are too stupid to know how to turn off the flash.

I didn't use a flash, which probably kept me under the radar. I can't stand the washed-out effect of on-camera direct flash anyway.
I also took a few quick pics during our tour of Neuschwanstein, but those were after the tour guide led the rest of the tour out of the room. I got a nice pic framed by two columns looking out over a lake and mountains.

Yeah, they told us we could take pics looking out of the castle from inside, just not of the inside itself. There were some good views to the outside, but when we were there, there were lots of groups going through and you had to wait quite a bit to get close to a window to shoot.
