Can you add on a sunscreen?

Anyone tried to add on a power sunscreen after purchase? We've got a baby on the way and I'd like to add it with power if possible... I'll go fixed if I have to, but I'd prefer not.

I saw the '08-'09 switch panel available on a BMW performance parts website, as I wanted to add it as well...but finding the mechanism, as well as the possible tearing of the car apart to add the needed wiring isn't something I probably want to do right now...so heavy tint is the solution (if legal in your area).

OEM Sunblind retrofit:

1) Electric = http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/51950403318/ (new rear shelf trim and additional parts required, not included with kit)

2) Non-electric = http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/51460419046/

In addition to being cheaper, tint would be more effective, more stylish, less effort, less risk of breaking something, less impairing of your rear view while driving, no risk of rattles, and of course cover your side windows in addition to your rear. Use F1 Pinnacle Ceramic 35% -- looks stylish yet subtle rather than going over the top on blackout, and ceramic doesn't impede electronic signals for Comfort Access, remote, etc.

already have decent tint... it's great for me, but i'd like to get a bit more protection.

The best $350 option (on E92) ever.... Retrofitting it will cost arm and a leg I am sure.... This also is especially a must have option for a sedan!

Let us know how the retrofit goes....

retro-fitting it could be a pain in the ass, i'm betting it'll cost you at least $500 when it's all said and done.

I would just get the stick ons.

I love the OEM sunscreen, it's worth every penny paid for it. I use it all the time in the summer.
