Adding cats to my Dinan Xpipe

I'm wanting to add cats to my Dinan xpipe to cut back on the rich exhaust fumes. That's my only complaint with being catless. What would be the best options for doing that?
There's a guy on here selling the stock secondary cats, would that work just welding them in to the same location?
Or do high flow cats in the primary or secondary?

I know alot will say to sell mine and buy a different xpipe but I don't think I want to go that route. New high flow catted xpipes are pricey.

My advice is to buy metallic magnaflow cats in 2.5" size off amazon or something and have them welded in to the secondary position

Do not put them in the primary position!!!

Given the prices the Dinan X-pipe command on the used market, you could sell it and buy an RKP or similar one with cats and probably make money on the deal.

From my research, the Dinan has been going for around $1200 or so. The RKP from what I've seen is $1700

This one ? Looks like there's another like this but doesn't look as big, just not sure what's the right one to get.

This is the one I used

The last time we did this we used a Bimmerworld Race xpipe with resonators and had these cats welded to the secondary position. What a great setup

Why not primary? Would that reduce fumes and allow emissions to be passed for those of us in those areas? I hear a stage two tune kills the cats quicker, but unsure if other downsides.

It still won't pass emissions

And maybe you're unlucky like me and you melt the aftermarket primaries and blow you engine. See thread linked in sig

No vids. I don't sell this stuff, just sharing advice

Cats and resonators take care of most of the rasp. Cats more than the resonators IMO

OP, I just ordered Magnaflow 59956 high flow cats for my Dinan X Pipe. I plan to put them in place of the rear most resonators. They were around $200 total from eBay.

You should probably just get a different xpipe, the dinan one is discontinued and you can easily sell it. Adding cats will likely mess with the sound which is great, especially when paired with the dinan axleback

I'm debating on doing that. I've got the full Dinan exhaust, and tune. Certainly don't want it to sound like crap. Just want to get rid of the exhaust fumes. Thought about adding the cats, and going to an ACM mod rear section too. Not sure how that would sound compared to the Dinan though.

ACM mod is waaaay louder than Dinan section 3.

Loud as in obnoxiously loud? The vids I've watched it seems to be a deeper sound, which I like. But I don't want something obnoxious. The Dinan sounds good, wish it was a little deeper rumble.
Would OEM 2 pipe mod be more of what I'm looking for.

2 pipe mod mite be closer to what yer looking for. The 4 pipe ACM mod is almost straight pipes in the rear. yes it tone is deeper, but man its loud.

if i were you i would go ahead and have some quality HFC welded in place of the forward resonators. see how you like that sound with the Dinan mufflers.

No fitment issues with putting these in just forward of the resonators?

Probably a dumb question.. but 2 put cats in at the secondary position, do 2 of the resonators need to be removed?

Not on the BW xpipe

Here are some pics

And here are some pics of my primary HFCs in my original ESS Xpipe. There are pics of my blown engine torn down in the forum.
