front bumper paint a maintenance item?!
im amazed at the abuse and lack of quality of the paint on these cars. my front bumper was in terrible shape from driving, pitted and small chips. i re-painted it, and its just as bad after a few thousand miles.
i think ill just treat it as a maintenance item. i figure ill let it take abuse for the rest of the summer, get it painted again, and get it completely detailed and filmed. ive been meaning to get film put on, but cant find anyone near by, so the short time i wait to schedule something seems to be enough to damage the paint, again. sigh. |

I wouldn't recommend putting a clear bra on. I had a clear bra on my 08 M5 when I lived in CT and it got torn to shred within the first six months. Get it resprayed around April when the road salts and sand have mostly washed away.

Concur - I like to treat it as a maintenance item too. Plus, with all the road debris around here, you just never know when you might crack it on something either.

What film are you guys using? A good film should not get torn up after driving. Sure you may get a nick in it if the rock is large enough but thats better than damage to the paint. It is also much cheaper to replace the bumper out of the clear bra than respray every year.
