Syncing Samsung Note 8 Contacts

I've been trying to sync my phone contacts from my Note 8 and for some reason, it will not sync at all. Any idea how I can do it?

Thanks.

Delete the phone in the Idrive system and pair it again. It usually asks me if you will allow the car to sync with your phonebook then press yes. I have CCC so could be different how it works in CIC, but it is almost the same procedure with other cars I paired my phone to.

Also update your bluetooth module in the car. BMW.com/bluetooth is where I got the latest update for my car. Solved some issues I was having with my Pixel 2 dropping connection every 4 mins or so.

Hmm...good idea. Maybe it's not fully compatible with my Note 8. I was fine with my Note 5 before.

That is weird, I have a Note 8 too and it works fine for me. I guess update the bluetooth module? I don't know how to do that, but my car hasn't been updated since 2013.

I just tried the bmw.com/bluetooth and it came back with the message:

"Your vehicle was not bought in the country currently selected. Please change your entry in the country selection."

When I change my country selection, I don't get this screen anymore/

I figured out what the problem was. I had the "Secure Folder" enabled. BMW Connected Drive cannot read the encrypted contacts. As soon as I uninstalled it, it worked fine.

Oh nice, couldn't you just turn it off?

I guess I could do that. I just thought I don't really need it so I uninstalled it.
