Eisenmann or Akrapovic
Title says it all;
I would like to know the preference of the members of the E9x M3 community. Would be nice to give it a score based on: 1- Performance: 2- Tone/Sound: 3- Cost: 4- Car use (Track, DD, etc): It can be a general comparison or specific to the different types each supplier offer (i.e Race, Sport, etc) Feel free to mention another exhaust type of your preference. & Videos would be a +++ to viewers. |

Welcome. Because you're new, and not at all to be insulting, have to suggest that you search on this subject if you have not already. I think there are about 1,894 exhaust related threads on here, and 10x that many member opinions.
My 2c (OPINION) on the question: If catback only, Eisenmann definitely offers more. Akra catback is very underwhelming from the driver's seat. I'd take the stock exhaust and induction noise (especially + filter) over what the Akra catback offers. You can only hear it up to ~3k rpm, and the sound quality isn't particularly great. Just adds some bass really. Little bit of rasp and character, but not much. I've said it before having run both Akra catback and Evo, the Akra was clearly designed as a full system. Catback was an afterthought. Whereas Eisenmann sport and race were engineered as catbacks. As far as a full system, then Akra is hard to beat. Performance: 10 -- gives you gains equal to any other primary cat delete system + > weight loss than anything else. Tone/Sound: 10 -- totally subjective. I love it. Cost: 1 -- buy a used system and save some. Still stupid expensive, but I'd argue the quality is a match for the price. Use: 10 -- excels everywhere. From highway driving where it's subtle, to track where it's plenty loud. Best of all worlds. Along with craftsmanship where the price becomes justified, in my opinion. Couple of my fav Akra vids.

There are tons of videos of different setups and each is a personal preference. I'd just start watching some videos and meeting up with other E9X M3 folks who have exhaust systems and give them a listen. Some like it quiet, some loud, some high pitches, some low pitched. It just all depends on what you find good. I personally think the Akra sounds way too quiet and is $$$ compared to the Eisenmann.

This is a tough one... best bet is to go to some meets and try and hear each system in person. I have the Eisenmann race and love it but i've seen people complain that its to loud.
