Winter Tyres

Hi,

Anyone put on Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 Winter tyres on their car?
If so any views? This is the tyre my stealer recommended.

I have the 19" wheels on my car so would need to get the 18" alloys too.
I was quoted £1950 inc VAT for the 270M 18" alloys and Michelin Alpin PA3 tyres. Only problem is the tyres are not in stock and the dealer was not sure when they could get them.

Thats not bad for the wheels as well. I was thinking about a winter set up but i might just save the cash and borrow the gf's mini when the weather gets really bad, it performed well last year!

Just got the 18" wheels and tyres off cv8 and put them on last night. Tyres are the Vredestein Wintrac Extreme...Drove this morning down my road which doesn't get gritted and the difference is incredible. No slipping/sliding or even dsc coming into play....

Will be keeping these on for the rest of winter and I'm sold - it really does make a difference...

I think the trouble you're gonna have is finding some one who has winter tyres in stock - just checked Camskill and they're out of stock in all brands bar hankook for the 18"s.

You are right Bej. Still waiting for the dealer to get back to me on the Michelin Aplin PA3's. There is no delivery date at the moment and the dealer is going to contact BMW Germany for more information.

I'm sure they have them to fit 19s , if not try mytyres.co.uk and they will have them in 19s...but will not be cheap though
you should of bought the set of 18 oem wheels with winter tyres that was for sale on here

I bought my set of 18s oem in the summer so that i can use them now ..as the 19s with ps2 tyres are sh*t in this weather !!

+1111 - Taz - drove down to south london last night, up a22 and into croydon area, parents live on a hill - no gritters and the wintracs got me right up to the front door...up hill as well going past 4x4's - best option ever if you've only got one car...although your car is so low dude....

if you want the oem 19"s let me know as I'm gonna stick with 18"s for winter and 20"s for summer...cheers man
