2008 owner options poll
Started another thread earlier about keeping our 08s vs bailing out. Let's here what other owners are doing. I'm keeping mine without warranty most likely.

I have an April 08 build E92 with DCT. Love the NA V8. Have 43,000 miles with no problems. Will trade for 2012 E92, want to keep that V8 forever......

So far my 08 has been great and so far the car is a keeper. Warranty stuff not sure about that if its worth it or not I only have less than 10000 miles on her. I would only look into the powertrain plus as a possible option.

Mine's November 07 6MT and I now have 35,000 miles. No issues so far. I have the full extended warranty as Uk only get 3 years. Hope the Eisenmann Race doesn't give them an excuse to get out of any problems in the future. I will be keeping mine as I don't like the idea of living without a V8.

No issues to date. I've already voided my warranty.

im at 46k with no issue... still runs like a champ... will be keeping my M3 and maybe will be getting a GTR... but thats like another 2-3 years.. LMAO... so im keeping it for good... i owe 10k on the car so its not worth it trading it in or buying a new one... financially not worth it.. well for me anyways.

Mine is up in June. Hoping to get out for either a new E92, an F10 M5 (if my Q4 bonus is redic) or just keep it until F32. I've only got 24,500 miles.

Nice. Keep us posted Danny. Can you give us a note on your driving style? Also, 6MT or DCT?

Driving style? I would have to say that I drive fairly conservative. I am averaging about 300 miles per tank, doing the math. I commute 90 miles a day for work. 45 hwy/45 city but at 5 AM there is not much stop and go traffic in the morning. I did the last oil change myself and I change it every 15,000 miles. I do not pay attention to the oil change interval arguments. While I was stationed in West Germany with the USAF, yes I am that old. I performed spectrometric oil analysis on pratt and whitney F100 engines, that would be the F15 eagle. So I know a little about wear metals and trending. Other than any catastrophic failure I'd like to keep this car.

Have a 2010, but will likely be at 50K in about a year and half sadly. In the past, I would strongly look into an extended warranty on a BMW and would definitely opt for a CPOd model if I bought a car with this mileage, but in this situation, I will probably pass. Extended warranty and extended maintenance are a bit overpriced IMO.

I havent had 1 issue with my 08, 24k miles. I bought a manual so I dont have to worry about a DCT out of warranty.
Why buy an expensive warranty for a car that hasnt had any issues? You dont see many threads about M3 issues. Go visit the m5board if you want to see a car with mega problems. I bought the M3 for stronger resale and fewer issues than the M5. Seems like a good financial decision at this point. I'd actually like to sell the M3 and get into something else next summer. However there's nothing else better considering the overall package of the M3 sedan. This ones a keeper

I bought my 08 cpo so I have a while to worry but I wont have an aftermarket warranty then. there will be lots of diy, youtube, and aftermarket parts for maintenance items by then. I do most all my own work anyway

As a guy that was looking at the 08 used, is there an issue with 08 when compared to the 2011/2012 besides just being older? It's the same engine and make as the 12s right? I believe it offers the same options too right? Would you advise not getting a used 08 to save a little cash?

08 w/ 11k miles. Pleasure vehicle and 6MT. No issues yet, originally worried about warranty expiring May of next year, but considering I only drive it a few hundred miles per month, the lack of reading about issues here and the lack of my personal issues I will pass on an extended. I envision only keeping the car 2-3 more years anyways.
