Custom Switch For Valvetronic Exhaust

What’s up guys, this may be a shot in the dark, but wondering if anyone has done a custom switch for a valvetronic exhaust. I know it runs with the wireless remote, but would love to see if anyone has done something in the interior with a switch or push button.

I have custom installed an exhaust valve switch for my M3. I used the Double Apex Exhaust Button. It's designed for VW Golf, so the lighting is red (off) and amber (on), but it's quite close to our orange interior lighting. You can see in the pics below.

https://www.doubleapex.co/products/exhaust-button

I installed it on the center console, between the arm rest and the iDrive controller. For E93 M3 that's where the switch for the retractable roof is.

The Double Apex Exhaust Button comes with a control module where you can specify the exhaust valve to be Normally Closed (NC) or Normally Open (NO). I have it on NO, which means when I start the car the exhaust flap is open (loud mode), and I press the switch to close the flap and quieten the car down.

For my car, I have a separate small electric vacuum pump in the rear to provide vacuum for the exhaust valve actuator (I didn't want to tap on engine/brake vacuum). So the Exhaust Button triggers this electric vacuum pump and also the vacuum solenoid that opens/closes the exhaust valves.

Hope this helps.

You should be able to program it into one of your IR buttons on the rear view mirror. That's what I did for my evolve system, one to open and one to close.

I guess that would work if your exhaust controller worked using IR. Not all do, I suppose.

That was my first idea but don’t know what the signal is off the receiver.

Do you have more angles of the switch from a further view? Looks great! I like that there is an official logo for exhaust buttons like standard defroster logos.

Mod the OEM headlight switch and use the lower switch (front foglamp, not used) to allow a TR7 module to a relay for the exhaust valve.

Clean, stealth and looks OEM.

Don't have any notes to share, did this for a single application ~6-7 years ago for a linelock system on our shop M3.

Those were the parts used, anyone familiar with 12V systems should be able to wire it up.

Here you go. The last one is with the switch off.

Well is there anyone that sells the buttons for the console switch assembly (that is where you have the power button as well as traction control) as I do not have EDC, so I would rather substitute the middle with an exhaust button. Any thoughts??
