2008 Sedan Resale Stonger Now?
When I bought my sedan, July 08, picked it up $10k off sticker new. At the time, they couldnt give away sedans. Now it seems there are fewer for sale, and the depreciation has slowed. Prices are stabilized a bit in the high $40k's for a nice one (mine has 16k miles, fully loaded, and mint).
Just an observation for those who own their cars. I was a little worried about the quick drop last year. Feeling a little better about the resale now. Yes, yes I know its a depreciating asset blah blah. I dont lose any sleep over this, etc. However nothing wrong with looking at what your purchase is worth from time to time.

I think the depreciation for all M3s has slowed in the USA as the economy has gathered itself back up a bit. Of course if the Euro collapse spreads to the USA this summer then we're back in the hole again.

i also thought decreased production for MY2009+ across many auto manufacturers contributed to higher end cars holding their value better in the last 12 months especially compared to the end of 2008. if you take a look at the new and used lots of your local bmw or porsche dealer, the number of cars in inventory is at least 30-40% less than it used to be - at least where i live.

With all due respect fellas, but you've got to be kidding.
2008 M3 (Sedan and Coupe) are in the low $40ks now. But we didn't buy this car for resale value (at least I didn't).

low 40s for an 08? here and there yes. But I think they are holding their value very well. The sedans are very hard to find which is why i bought it new.

I paid $48,900 for my fully loaded 2008 M3 Sedan CPO in March. Thye original sticker was $67,000
Considering it's a CPO'd car I'm pretty happy with the price |

I've noticed a drop off in lower priced e9x m3s on the market (seem to be much harder to find a nice price) , I'm hoping to pick up a CPO m3 at the end of the year or early next year and I anticipate the bottom end will remain low 40s.
People are still selling their e46m3s for mid 30s and the 335i is also still holding around there too. I would be suprised to see an e90 m3 in the high 30s at the end of the year with less than 45k on the ODO. |

But does milage make that much of a difference... I know my car was practically new(so to speak) but 26,000 isn't high for these cars especially for a 08... But you did get an awesome deal also... Oh and I mean 52K not 53K... Dealer didn't want to budge a dime more...

Not sure where you are getting the sticker price but my 08 has the same options (plus Sirius and USB port) and my sticker was $67k (with no-cost JB paint.) Still seems like a very good deal with so few miles. Be careful for those next 10 miles till your break-in service...

Can't put a price on that new car smell versus having a seat that's been molded to someone else's butt! Oh wait.. yes you can. haha. New car smell sure is pricey.
Might be price differences on gas guzzler tax too. |

Sure, maybe 1 or 2 sold that low. The bulk are high $40k for decent options, mileage, etc. This is about the same as close to a hear ago.

All over the southeast. If I hadn't gone with European Delivery I was looking at loaded '09s in the low 50s. SoCal may be different.
