Price this spec

2010 Melbourne Red, CF roof, 6spd, nav, Speedcloth, 35k miles, non-ZCP with EDC. Headers, cat delete w/ stock muffler. Unknown tune (possibly burble). Alcantara sport steering wheel with M and PTS. front CF splitter. Good tires and brakes. Well serviced. Needs rear diff pinion seal and small seepage at oil pan.

Now price the car with major damage: Hit guard rail. Carfax shows front, driver side, and rear impact with structural damage. PPI showed excellent repair work. No sign of current structural damage. Biggest impact is potential resale value.

Also it does have staggered BMW wheels but not any style that came with these cars off the floor. Also A/C evaporator was replaced which I was told is expensive repair but I guess whats not expensive on these.

Yeah - 92 or 90?

Is it a salvaged title?

Sight unseen: $10k
If it looks clean and drives well: $17k

Since it has a CF roof I would imagine its a coupe.

Aside from the tune, that would be a sweet car. Speed Cloth and 6spd with low miles for the year would be a $32k-33K car, and about $4k more for ZCP...

... and then there you go. Not only is it a red light car (auction term) due to damage, its got a "structural" tag on Autocheck. It doesn't matter if BMW themselves repaired it back to better than stock, you now have a brand on the title. How bad is it really? Does it state "salvage"? Or is it actually "Certificate of Destruction"? Salvage means you'll never get it financed, CoD means it can't be registered and you just got yourself a parts car.

Oh this just gets better.

BMW put 3 different styles (219,220,359) on the E9X from the factory, and this car rides on wheels that it didn't come with? Best case, the previous owner sold the stock wheels when they put on aftermarket, then parted the car out prior to sale and had to scramble to find OEM wheels that would fit. Worst case, the car was a theft recovery (following the accident), and the wheels were stolen or maybe removed at the recovery lot, and then someone put any BMW wheels they could find on to get the car rolling. The thing is, no matter what the case is, its very easy to come up with a set of 219 or 220 wheels to keep the car looking like an M3. So why would this one have a different style?

All that and a burble tune. It must be an interesting story, I wager.

I'd offer $15k, and part the thing out. I'd keep the seats for myself.
