Transmission jerking and overheating

Got a 2010 e92 m3 with 80k miles on it. It is my brothers car and he drives the hell out of it every day. Transmission is overheating and 1st hear is jerky off the line. Not the usual dct jerk but I mean jerky as shit. got codes for overheating but that's it. Any ideas on what could cause it to overheat? Happens even if you drive like an old lady now. Going to check the transmission for leaks soon.

I recently had my bumper off. Looked at the cooler and found a lot of small stones in the fins. Spent several hours blowing the debris from the back with an air hose. Got about a cup of sand and small rocks. I know the cooler is more effective now.
