Seatbelt Butler not working?

I know I'll probably want to disable it once its working.. but I don't like the fact that I don't know why its not working..!

Anyway, its not working at all, neither side extend or move at all. Carly throws up an error that its not functioning, disturbed communication with passenger side belt feeder... but nothing else. Does anyone have any pointers as to how I might be able to fix it?

Thanks

Maybe your previous owner went through exactly the same thought process ultimately disabling it by snipping a wire somewhere. A vicious cycle of love and hate ending with a snip

Check fuse in glovebox panel to make sure it hasn't blown, or that it wasn't coded out in FEM_BODY module.

Please don't say that. Reminds me of what doctor once did to me. Snip, snip, pick, pick.

Did check the fuse box and not there.

Checked the coding with Carly and that looked ok.

If they did cut the wires thats ok, I'd just want to know. Does anyone know how to get to the wires behind the arm?

There should be a 10amp fuse in #25. If it's missing, someone pulled it.

Check DIY here: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31248

Thanks - I've checked the fuse and although its not the same as in that post, it is there. I'm thinking that cut wires are the likely culprit here - just a case of how to get to them..

You take the side panel off and the wires are readily accessible. I have 4 of those motors if you want a new one. I doubt that someone would cut them. It would be easier to unplug them where they plug into the motor behind the rear panel.

Unplugged....hence "disturbed....". It's coded in FRMII driver and passenger "activ or nich_active". Once you get it working you'll just be let down by a limp belt that slips out of the grabber.

Sadly, this is what my driver side does. Passenger side works great.

Replace the belt and it'll work great. The belt needs to be stiffer. If you could iron the belt, it'd work again.
