Congratulations!

I'm still waiting for mine to start - put my order in 4 March, 2011.

Still no production date.

Uh, I don't know how this is possible, but I ordered March 14th (in the evening) and my CA just emailed and said mine went into production on the 17th and is currently at:

155 Assembly finish /quality check

Amazing!

All depends where you fall in the queue. My dealership had to get a slot from another dealer so I have to wait.

Congrats!! Congrats to everyone else here as well.

I'm sure yours will go into production soon, B52Gunner... at least you didn't have my bad luck... I ordered my 323i back in March 2000 and the car didn't arrive at my dealership until July 2000... THAT was a long wait.

I really shouldn't complain, I still have my current M3, but I still look forward to its replacement.

I didn't notice you have an M3 already... what options are you getting for the replacement versus what you have with your current M3 (also an e9x M3?)

This one is another E90. I am going to try a MT this time with ZCP, otherwise the only other diff. is this one will be alpine white and not have fold down rear seats (I never use them).

Delivery from time of production completion varies. It all depends on shipping, and how long it may or may not have to sit at the port. I changed back to the DCT transmission today on my order. I went forward and back and decided to stick with the DCT. I'm so used to it now.

its not the payment that causes me to pause...but rather the functionality and reliability of the system.

There have been reliability issues with EDC?

For many, it does offer some usable options on ride firmness, which may be important if you travel on less than stellar roads. Also, may help resale down the road.

Question

The 800 number says my car went into production yesterday but the website still has it listed as on order and not showing production status. Is this typical?

thanks

Typical, yes. Both are pretty unreliable and never in sync with reality. They had me at port waiting for a ship for almost two weeks and turns out I just got there a day or two ago.

Your CA has the up to date info through his system. The website and 800# are nice attempts at keeping you engaged in your order and of your dealers back, but in practice, it is more show than go.
